We don't have those where I live. My state isn't big on boxing.

It will definitely boost the PPV numbers. It will expose Pacquiao to a new group of people that usually never even think about boxing, mostly white America.

Props to Pac! When was the last time a boxer made 60 due to their accomplishments?

This should be good as long as pac doesn't sing.

I don't think there is much doubt that they are doing the piece on Pacquiao because he was recently voted into Congress. If he was just the best fighter in the world, i don't know if 60 minutes would've been interested. But you add in the fact that he's now a Congressman, and that's the type of stuff the viewers of this show eat up.

The target audience for 60 minutes is a little too old, and a little too female to be buying a boxing PPV.

Seriously, you think someone who wasn't previously even remotely interested in boxing is going to suddenly spend nearly $60 because Manny flashed his charming smile in a short segment?

Not one person who wasn't already planning on buying the PPV (or even aware of it) will do so strictly because of a 60 Minutes appearance. :yep

God damn, ESB is a silly place sometimes.

of course it will be, and they'll probably push the fight a little and that'll be that - people will want to see the little kid from the phillipines whos now taking on a monster

I know what you mean. It doesn't work as well for emmanuel. He's not exactly the cutest kid on the block like say an Oscar, Amir, or Sergio. no homo

Well, i would say the majority of the audience is probably old, white people (no racism intended) but that doesn't mean that there won't be other age groups with varying interests watcing who might be convinced to order the fight. Bottom line is that being featured on one of the main shows in the U.S. helps out Pacquiao and boxing.

A lotta old folks watch 60 minutes...old guys too. There's a good chance many of them grew up watching boxing (or maybe even boxed a little themselves) since it was one of the biggest sports in the world in their day and most of them have most likely since drifted away from their interest in boxing so it might catch some of these old fellas eyes and get them hyped on watching Manny Pacquiao on the nostalgiac tip. Granted, it won't be anything too significant # wise. But Pac does seem to be getting a lotta press these days and his Nike **** is available in every Athlete's World, Foot Locker, general sports clothes store anywhere.
