I cant see him moving back down in weight to fight the likes of Katsidis or Marquez. theyd probably make him fight Juan and David Diaz or maybe a Humberto Soto.

Improving your chin isn't the only way to develop as a fighter. Training under Roach and sparring with Manny, fighting boxers of a higher calibre since Prescott (albeit no 'punchers') and fighting infront of bigger (arena and tv) audiences will all of contributed to his development.

I'm not saying he's perfect, I'm not saying he's going to knock out Maidana. I'm just here to say if you believe Khan hasn't developed at all as a fighter since Precott, you are a fruit loop. His progress is clear for any real boxing fan to see. He has a considerably heavier and shinier waist nowdays and an improving record to boot.

How can you be sure his chin hasn't improved? There is only one way to find out, and that is by Khan taking fights like Maidana; so props to him for that.

I'm not Khan's biggest fan, but you are just being a reactionary douchbag.

So quit your bitching about how he has fought no hitters since Prescott; how is throwing him into the ring with a serious puncher immediately after a Round 1 KO going to develop him as a boxer? He's taken the sensible route and built towards fighting a hitter. This is the stage he has now reached in his short career. The biggest test is still to come, but he understands that better than you ever could.

  4. listen, brother, nobody wants to see boxer with a weak chin fight. no one. i dont know what the hell youre thinking but youre wrong. his career wont be over but everyone will lose interest in it. a boxing super star absolutely needs power and a good chin. it doesnt have to be granite but it has to be good. ****in prescott hurt him with a jab. a jab! what kind of **** is that. if i wanna see assholes with weak chins i ll start watching mma.

    Care to elaborate?

Greenburg said in a recent interview that he essentially handcuffed Golden Boy by saying that HBO was only interested in a Khan fight if it was against Maidana. Seems pretty legit to me.

You also cannot educate a complete and utter moron who is obsessed with Khans chin.

Khan will beat Maidana with ease.........If you think Maidana will knock him out then put your 500 v cash on it then you can disappear up your own ass you cretin.

Thing is roach must see something with khan. He put him in with pacquiao for goodness sake. I would imagine even with headgear and big sparring gloves pac could at least knock down khan (maybe he already has). Think about, how many people have you heard saying khan and pac go to war when they spar. This is the same guy who was getting wobbled of a jab at 135.

Also compare the quality and hell even the power of the fighters hes fought under roach. Does kotelnik hit harder at 140 then willie limond?

This fight is definately the riskiest of all the fights at 140 for him though. His one glaring weakness is that chin and fighting a guy who is actually a better than prescott and a harder puncher takes some balls. Its kind of like an acid test for khan. It will show whether he can handle punchers, plain and simple. Like someone else said, either he shows great defence or a good beard he has to pass this test with flying colours and straight up dominate.

Just watching some recent footage of maidana though, he isnt actually a slow fighter. He has good hand and footspeed and is also a relentless fighter. Ortiz landed some big shots on him and he fired right back. Also i believe ortiz has a much better chin than amir.

People may well ask how Khan became a lww champ when still only fighting his way into contention at lw? Having said that who rates the wba anymore anyway?

He is fighting the biggest puncher in the division, If he wanted he could have just vacated his title and not fought Maidana, So for taking the fight he deserves credit.

The fight itself is 50/50, I dont see Maidana coming to trying and win a UD by outboxing Khan, I dont see Khan trading to much with Maidana so its either going to be Khan UD or Maidana KO.

We will find out in a few more weeks, Take it easy.
