Had it 114-113 for Marquez. Their first fight was brutal to score - last time I watched it, I had it a draw but I could give it to either guy by a point. I found their re-match very easy to score - 7 rounds to 5 for Marquez, every time.
This gimp seems to have a very strong opinion on practically every issue under the sun... ...yet never, ever backs his claims up with anything. Do you actually score fights, or just watch them once and go along with what the commentators say or whatever most people on here tell you? You are the one-sentence troll of the General Forum, no knowledge, no understanding, no evidence, just one line of bull**** every time! Here's a card which can be explained and backed up, watch and learn troll: R1: 10-10 R2: JMM 10-9 R3: Pac 10-8 R4: Pac 10-9 R5: JMM 10-9 R6: JMM 10-9 R7: Pac 10-9 R8: JMM 10-9 R9: Pac 10-9 R10: Pac 10-9 R11: JMM 10-9 R12: JMM 10-9 TOTAL: Pac 114, JMM 114
Many people I have seen giving round 1 to Pacman, and I know Lederman did as well, and I have watched and rewatched that round many times as I really want to give it to Manny D) as that would win him the fight on my card, but I just can't do it. To me, that's as even a round as it gets. For once, my *******ism must take a back seat to my integrity, such as it is!
I felt Pac won the fight. There was one round where Marquez had Pac hurt, or he was bothered, or something wasn't right with Pac. Marquez failed to press the action. He did not take advantage, and Pac actually recovered and won the exchanges later in the round. This basic lack of initiative doomed Marquez, and I felt he was slipping late into a counterpunching shell and that he was not in fact landing more hurtful or effective shots than Pac, no matter what the media says. In my mind the first fight was much much closer, this one was a clear two point victory for Pac. Pac was lucky to have the three knockdowns in the first fight, but I felt the second fight was a brilliant Pac performance against a credible opponent that really showcased improved versatility.
Both were good close fights with the knockdowns making the difference. I've debated this one a few times with people. Might watch it again now and score it.
R1: Pac 10-9 R2: JMM 10-9 R3: Pac 10-8 R4: Pac 10-9 R5: JMM 10-9 R6: JMM 10-9 R7: Pac 10-9 R8: JMM 10-9 R9: Pac 10-9 R10: Pac 10-9 R11: JMM 10-9 R12: JMM 10-9 Total: Pac 114 -113 10-10 Rounds are rarely given. I think Pac just gets r1 if you can choose a winner. I found it more difficult to choose a winner of round 2, but think Marquez done just enough. Round 9 was very close but Pac got some clean hits. Quite a fe rounds were close. I think Pac did just about enough to win. You could easily given a draw and maybe even to marquez and it would be valid with debate. I should watch Pac - marquez 1 again and see how I score that as is also a close fight.
If you are a Pacman fan then you'll say he won and if you are a Marquez fan then you'll say he won too. So those judges scoring the fight are obviously *******S!
first and foremost, im a fan of boxing. if i didnt think that marquez had won, i wouldnt say it. i thought he clearly won the fight. im not saying that it wasnt competitive. it was one of the most competitive bouts in recent memory. it was close on the scorecards. i scored it 114-113 in favor of marquez and i dont see how anyone can have any other score. ive watched the fight in question countless times. marquez made pacquiao fight the fight he wanted. he controlled the action from beginning to end practically. he determined the pace. he attacked when he wanted to. he instigated many of pacquiao's attacks. he was always a step or two ahead of pacquiao. most experts agree that marquez won.
that's a very respectable scorecard. the only problem i have with it is round 7. i dont understand why you gave that round to manny. that was clearly a marquez round. he landed a few combinations and scored with single punching. his defense was also superb. pacquiao didnt land enough to win that round. if someone scored round 8 10-8 in favor of marquez i wouldnt completely disagree. he totally dominated that round.
thats the round with the headbutt. Marquez was boxing well but after the headbutt Pac woke up a little and went for him. Marquez did land some combos to which I think Pac replied well. Landed some other clean shots in that round too. But again it could have gone the other way too. This whole fight was so close there are many rounds you can score for either guy depending how you view it on the scoring criteria. Overall like yourself am a boxing fan and feel i would have agreed wth what ever the result was in this fight a win for either guy or a draw. You can make a case for it all. Pac knows that too and is why there wasnt a Pac-Marquez 3. Like your avi says half full or half empty
hmmm tahts a very good point. So then the aggressor should always win the fight. The counter puncher isnt leading so he should lose. Thank god your not a judge.
