Shavers had Lyle all but out with a single left hook in round 2 when the bell saved him. Shavers then proceeded to run out of stamina in an attempt to finish in the next round.

Foreman hit Lyle with every punch in the book in an all-out brawl, and battered him to submission in the corner.

Certainly based on these two fights one would have to assume that Shavers was more dangerous with one punch, while Foreman was better overall.

yeah. for him to say foreman has Better one punch ko power judging from these fights is ******ed.
Foreman had to pound Lyle into the ropes with a long long flurry of punches, mostly arm punches, until Lyle was so exhausted he couldn't even beat the count.
shavers had Lyle out with a single left hook. i have that from facing Ali

  3. lye took the blows from shavers but he did not take the blows of foreman. it is a fact

  4. you can be the hardest puncher on the universe, but if you can´t use well your power you are a ****. foreman did use better his hitting power than shavers did.

    Shavers was not ****.
Foreman won that fight based on luck and strength. Foreman was very lucky he won that fight

  7. not, foreman was down more of once and he won the fight by ko, it is not luck it is to be a great fighter. and still he was depressed when he faced lyle, he was by far past his prime mentally

exacty he was down more then once.
therefore he just got the better of the slugfest. quite simple
it could have been easily been foreman getting stopped.

  9. you love liston tommy, according to you liston is an all time great, how many times liston got up and won a fight after he was knocked down?
    never!!
    ali, frazier,marciano, holmes,jack jonhson,joe louis,foreman... not liston,not tyson

Once again you bring up Liston. (by the way according to anyone that knows about boxing Liston is an alltime great)
Liston is not relevant to this discussion. but since you asked he got knocked down by mike dejohn and got up to win that fight.
happy now? besides I don't even think that matters as much as just getting hit with huge shots, which Liston and Tyson did do.

  11. These details differentiate the warriors of the current boxers. the facts are he was knocked down ,he got up and he won by ko:deal

  12. liston is one of the greatest?
    arguements please.
sonny liston never did nothing but knock out floyd patterson(185pounds) and clevelands williams . i might name more than 20 boxer who would beat these guys.
sonny liston was dominant because he faced real kids .
he never fought wars in the ring

Not quite the all-out brawl that Foreman-Lyle was but better skills included:

Liston had his nose broken in the first round, but came back to take the fight to Williams in round 2 & 3.

I never ever said he was one o the greatest.
Sonny didn't fight real wars? right. according to you. you've only seen the fights avaiable on YouTube of him. and sonny didn't fight kids. it's not his fault at all that he had to face these fighters.

  15. tommy, in my opinion sonny was good in his prime and he was very strong, i give him credit because foreman said " liston was born to be a brutal boxer" liston had skill, very good jab, good stamina... but according his career he is not one of the greatest. because several boxers might beat patterson and cleveland williams
