The ironic thing is I think Floyd has the style to beat Manny and vice versa. That's one of the reasons the fight would be so interesting. I think the fight Floyd took vs. JMM really underrates JMM because his true greatness was at lower weights. To be fair Floyd's best fighting weight was also at the lower weights, but he has the body frame to be a welterweight. Manny I think top should not be fighting over 140. Since both are elite fighters fighting at 147 is a huge adv already for Floyd where I would see it as an adv for Manny if it was at 140. Floyd already showed he cannot make a catchweight at 144 and come no less than 146 and Floyd's one of the most disciplined fighters in the world. Manny on the other hand, has to eat so much food to gain the weight and then burn so many calories so it won't turn into fat. I know this is a great fight, but IMO one that really shouldn't be happening. But then Manny has proved so many wrong so many times. Floyd can follow the JMM blueprint, but he's gonna be having the greatest performance of his life in order to win this one. To people who say Manny is the same one JMM fought couldn't be more wrong. Gaining weight and retaining the speed equals to more punching power. Basic science.
You don't have to clinch Manny. Just stay in attack mode, slip his hard shots, use a shot gun jab, and back him up!
This is where the advantage goes to Floyd. He is a master at figuring out and breaking down his opponents.
You have to reciprocate Pac's offense with offense. I have watched Pac-Jmm fights many times and everytime Pac launches an attack, Jmm always stays put looking to counterpunch. He did not back down, he did not wait for Pac to finish before counterpunching. He counterpunched at a point when Pac is vulnerable - while on the offense. And he did it all throughout 12 rounds, he did not give Pac his usual benefit of getting a breather right after launching combo. It is the presence of all these factors that made Jmm a difficult fight for Pac.
I didn't see Eric Morales grabbing Pac and clinching him, and that wasn't a part of EM's game plan. You have to attack Pac like EM did. Mano E Mano. It didn't hurt that EM had a chin also.
This **** is getting out of control. Hearns, Duran, Leonard, Curry, Mosely, Trinidad and Quartey would have all destroyed Paq at 147. So far he has beaten a weight-drained 36-year-old intravaneoulsy abused DLH... a shopworn Cotto who was coming off a severe Margo beatdown and a brutal bloody fight against Clottey... and Clottey who came for a paycheck(Pac looked worse at the end of the fight after Clottey threw all of ten punches). If Margo never had loaded gloves in his career and can sustain the same pace he had with Cotto I cannot see Paq winning this fight. I can actually see Paq getting seriously hurt. Many people including Ronnie Shields, Nazim Richardson, Cotto and Goosen are now saying they would not be suprised to see Margo winning this fight. I have Margo at +475. This fight should be no more than -300
