iv read and listened a long while to alot of the stuff he's said and i dont find much of what he says credible, he speaks allot of the times with strong emotion, not too long ago he was talking up kevin mitchell to be some kind of saviour of british boxing and when katsidis humiliated him in 3 rounds he made every possible excuse for kevin, the same thing can be said about froch, he defends allot of the prospects. He thinks tyson fury is a serious heavyweight ffsatsch, and on the subject of khan he licks khans balls everytime he interviews him and behind his back he states the only reason why khan wins all his fights is by ''running all the time''. i think steve bunce is a disgraceful
Buncey has his style. Some people like it, some people don't. To call him a disgrace jsut makes you look like a dick though.
WhamBam - shut the **** up. He's a great journalist when he's writing AS a journalist. When he's a commentator he wears his heart on his sleeve and displays his bias clearly. Accept it for what it is - he always generates a discussion. But his piece on Valuev before he fought Haye was one of the best boxing-related features I've seen in years.
You need to search the archives you tool and read his stuff from Boxing Monthly, The Independent etc just to see what a fantastic writer he is. So he's had a few opinions that have went tits up, haven't we all? But to call him a disgrace is a disgraceful comment. If you're looking for your 15mins and trying to bait him into some sort of argument it wont happen. Go back to the playground son.
his commentary is inexcusable half the time he talks ****, iv even read the **** he writes on this forum and LOL at most of the crap,
This :deal If you don't like him don't read or listen to him. Doubt he'll lose too much sleep over it, you shouldn't either!
i have always said that i dont agree with bunce all the time, but thats natural...you'll never please everyone all the time.. but, i do like what he does a lot...he has a passion for boxing, a typical example would be last night...who else in bunceys position would have taken all that trouble to get kaylor and christie talking live on the airwaves, who else would have bothered talking about, and talking in length about, the likes of teddy baldock, frankie lucas and even go all round london to make a documentary on kirkland laing today...this is stuff we will not get anywhere else. if he wasnt there a lot of boxing fans would miss what he does.
Show me any boxing pundit, no, journalist, no, fan, no, person who is infallible in their opinion. Bunce just like every one else, including your great self is capable and is entitled to be wrong. He's got things wrong in the past, he will get things wrong in the future. His knowledge of the sport, particularly with regards to the history of the domestic scene, and his passion cannot be questioned, he's been around this sport for decades. He isn't dull, he's not diplomatic for the sake of being diplomatic. He's not one of the robots from Sky. He tells you what he thinks and often in entertaining fashion. Bunce is alright in my book.
I don't mind Bunce, seems pretty decent to me. He's a bit of an arselicker when it comes to Haye though, I wouldn't take what he says too seriously if it has anything at all to do with DH. Sorry Steve
not everyone is going to like you. no matter what you are doing, this is true. i dislike bunce as a journlist. i will go out of my way to not have to listen to him on TV as I find his whole game tedious at this stage and he just rubs me up the wrong way with his fake enthusiasm and biggit it up at the time. however, its nothing personal at all and i know other people will like him. its just a case of not everyone liking you
I used to think he was an annoying trumpet when I first started to notice him but now I like him and he does have lots of interesting things to add when I read him in boxing monthly or listen to his podcasts on the BBC site. He is a genuine boxing fan as well and not just doing a job. I also hope he doesnt respond to this thread and give the attention sad act who started it any credibility.
i think he is a great boxing pundit. i dont agree with everything he says, but thats not a bad thing. i cant think of any pundit in any sport who's point of view i always agree on. he is good for british boxing and he shows passion for the sport and isnt afraid to speak his mind and dosnt seem too bothered if you dont agree with him.
