The purse split for Vitali Klitschko’s next title defense against the winner of the title eliminator between Ray Austin and Odlanier Soliswill be 70% for the champion and 30% for the challenger. Austin and Solis meet December 17th in Miami and the winner’s title shot against Klitschko must take place within 100 days of December 17th. A corresponding contract was signed by Arena Promotions, K2 Promotions, Don King Productions and the WBC.

If the eliminator fight ends in a draw, or the winner is injured and unable to fight Vitali then the WBC has said he may then pick his next fighter to fight.

    Thoughts please?

30% is not bad...that's probably a lot better then the measly 500k that Briggs got.

Hope Austin wins it. He's old and kind of sucks, but Solis is a fat joke.

Thats why Sulaiman resigned as the President..

Let Vitali fight Mr.Adamek in March for ****s sake!

Mr.Solis is a complete nobody...NOBODY folks! Not even Jim have heard about this kid.

Vitali is close to retirement so let him have his last big fight! Mr.Solis will be lucky to not fight Big Brother...

    Fu** Boxing!

    Im retiring too folks!

I think Klitschko monopoly took a hit. Don King said enough with this shite. But, all and all, it was a fair deal. Champ always gets the bigger piece of the pie. It may seem like Klitschko is avoiding Solis. But, I think it is the fat ******* who is ignoring him.

Briggs wasn't a mandatory. He didn't work his way up to a title shot, he took the easy route. Briggs' payday was $750,000 according to BILD.DE. Still not too bad for getting your head smashed in, isn't it?

According to the broadcast it was 500k, and yes that is bad money for a championship fight. At least it used to be.
True no one forced him to take the offer. But since the belt holders have the ability to generate millions regardless of opponent (Germans love them some Klitshckos); there's no incentive for them to offer any meaningful sum of money. If someone asks for more, they move on to the next chump. So I guess that's just the economics of boxing during this era.
Sucks to be a challenger I guess.

But at a mandated 30%, the challenger will get a good chunk of the purse.

Assuming Solis gets by Austin (questionable).......Vitali will beat Solis as he did Arreola.

It'll only be a question of if he can stay on his feet or if the ref has to save him.........KO mid rounds.

Austin or Solis does not deserve a title shot, the public and even HBO wanted Adamek at MSG, USA.

I dont see why out of all the dud Klitschko fights, Solis and Austin havnt been taken care of already. Itsw annoying that it is stopping a potentially interesting match with Adamek.

I bet Audley is gettinmg a damn site more for fighting Haye. They reckon it will be a PPV record in the UK, grosing around $15million. Another sign why Haye verrsus the Klits aint happening. Both camps can hoover up the money fighting bums twice a year. They aint gonna get much more money by fighting each other are they- so why put the gravy train at risk.
