Who? What? Benn-Watson II with what happened afterwards and everything. Lewis-Bruno is a good shout Beeston :good Buchanan-Laguna I and Stracey-Napoles
There was plenty going on before the fight, some nationalistic stuff that the looney left would find disgraceful these days..... UAF would be camped outside both men's houses armed with eggs. Plus it was a great fight, not just a joke fight (like erm..... I won't say) - and it sent their careers in opposite directions. It made Lewis complacent and gave him the belief that he could just do as he wished and then KO an opponent like turning on a tap..... and it gave Bruno the belief that he was actually good enough to be in the top 5 of a strong division and compete.
Dave boy Green vs. John Stracey. Paul Jones vs. Verno Philips. Wild card: Barry Michael vs. Rocky Lockridge (Would make for a brillient Legendary nights documentary as there were some weird things going on that night and Barry Michael was technically English). The fight wasn't that interesting though.
ive never seen the HBO series...do they have a doco then the full fight or just have highlights within a documentary? interviews with the fighters? obviously only if possible? how does it work?
A half hour docu on each fight (e.g douglas v tyson, hagler v hearns etc) with interviews from all relevant parties. A breakdown of the fight with some highlights. Plus a lot of stuff that some of us never knew. Check the series out mate. You can pick it up at various places. When Arguello's son talked about his Dad I had a lump in my throat. Softie I am.
Worth getting your hands on mate. I've spent entire evenings just watching one after the other. Some are produced from a certain "angle" in order put an interesting slant on a fight but they are all top notch.
Never heard of Eric Boon and Arthur Danahar Ishy??:-( It was the first Brit title fight to be televised and apparently they picked a corker!
