Physical prime? Yes. Prime as an overall fighter? No.

The current version of Wlad fights defensively and doesn't get hit often. The old version of Wlad fought offensively and did get hit often.

Sanders may have been one of rare fighters that could hit even the current version of Wlad often and hard.

Sanders' handspeed & accuracy would always give him a decent chance of knocking Wladimir out.

Hendo..you are getting good answers. You just refuse to listen... I mean, if you really cannot see Wlad's improvement, then you need another sport to hate on...

Wlad was not at his peak because against Sanders because he had yet to learn the jab and grab. Without excessive clinching, Wlad is vulnerable. With the jab and grab, he is a monster.

Making improvements in your technique later does not mean you were green.

No one is saying he was green. What is being said is that Wlad has improved significantly in the last 7-years. Anyone who does not see that is a pure hater. Simple as that.

People who think Wlad today is an ATG and 2003 Wlad was an inexperienced kid with wild tendancies are ****ing ******ed. He fights in a very similar fashion today, just against often small and always out-of-shape bums. He can control them in ways he never could an average fighter like Sanders.

Also remember that when he fought Sanders, Wlad had fought 41 times as a pro and won an olympic gold medal!!!!! ATG Lennox Leiws RETIRED with a similar amount of time spent in the ring. Wlad was defending his WBO championship belt for the 7th ****ing time also!

Whenever he got hit by Sanders Wlad did the exact same thing he does now. Desperately tried to hold and lean on his opponent. Problem was, Sanders was close enough to his size and had just enough speed to beat the **** out of him every time he tried it.

Wlad couldn't hang out his pawing left hand to keep distance like he does in all his fights cos Sanders was big enough and fast enough to come over the top of it.

Sanders was not even close to being a great boxer and he was pushing 40 years old when he dismantled Wlad. What he did have was some size, decent speed and power. Wlad still could not deal with that combinantion and luckily for him he hasn't had to since.

Vitali destroyed the very same Corrie Sanders a year later. Why?!?!? Cos he is a real fighter, not a hype job like his brother Wlad. Stop building up this ridiculous hype machine. Anyone who knows boxing knows Wlad has the most pathetic resume ever and his most entertaining fights have been his 3 awful losses.

I heard that Wlad under estimated Corrie plain and simple. Not physically but mentally. I doubt Wlad ever makes that mistake again.
