I know Alvarez is young and is not physically mature. Does he have a chance against Cotto?

Alvarez was badly hurt by Cotto's much inferior brother a few fights back, had it been Miguel it was game over.

Cotto would step away from attacks just to prolong the punishment ala Alfonso Gomez. That's how one sided it would be.

Saul is to green and unpolished, to beat a methodical boxer puncher like Miguel.

A bit too green for Cotto at this stage unless he wants to make a high risk statement. Cotto should fight Angulo instead or maybe even Cintron.

Cotto has not been the same since Margarito and Pac. IMO he's ripe for a young up and comer like Alvarez!

I agree Cotto is on the slide, he's developed scar tissue and goes into survival mode a lot now, but he's still got enough to put Alvarez to sleep with one of his vicious left hooks. Alvarez has way to many weaknessess to beat even a Miguel Angel who is fading.

i feel with emmanuel in his corner you see a better cotto...2 losses againt two questionable fighters doesnt equal washed up...whats makes any of u think that if the older cotto who is a natural 135-140lber and nearly knocked howdy doodys head off that miguels sledge hammers wouldnt beat his face in...maybe two-three years, but byy then cotto is out the game

That's too big of a step up for him right now. I like Alvarez, he's developing well but to fight Miguel Cotto right now isn't wise for him. Give him time to develop and then we'll be able to really see what kind of boxer he can become.

2 to 3 years and then Alvarez has a chance.
