in this all thailand bout, veeraphol won the WBA bantam title, via split verdict, in only his 4th pro fight. just wanted to know - was it a good, hard, exciting fight? - was it very close, and who deserved to win the bout?
Been a while since I've seen the fight and I can't remember too much about it. From what I recall Chuvatana started off well and put good pressure on Sahaprom, but Sahaprom owned the second half of the fight on the whole and had too much stamina when all things were said and done. It wasn't an all out action fight, but there were good technical skills on display from both men and good little spot-fires here and there. I do have a record of my scorecard: Veeraphol Sahaprom vs. Daorung Chuvatana: 116-114 Sahaprom Chuvatana: 2,3,4 and 5. Sahaprom: 6,7,9,10,11 and 12. Rounds 1 and 8 even.
thanks for info. sounds like a fight worth checking out. veeraphol's other early world title fight, vs konadu, was a thriller. veeraphol fought more like gamoboa back then, very reckless defensively, flashy with speed and power, dropping the veteran heavily but getting stopped in the 2nd round. veeraphol would become a much more seasoned, mature and rounded technician, of course, 2 years later in the 2 demolitions of WBC champ joichiro tatsuyoshi, for instance.
