Here is my few. Julio cezar chaves should train antonio margarito tommy hearns need to train paul williams roberto duran needs to train marcos maidana and berto marvin hagler need to train juan urango what are yours?
You can't just think great fighters would be good trainers of guys with similar styles. It doesn't work like that. They probabily wouldn't have the patients.
Being an ATG is no guarantee someone would be a great trainer. I see what you're saying, but I think a lot of those guys would be better off as assistant trainers for those particular fighters, with a top established trainer doing most of the work.
a lof of great fighters would make **** trainers, its hard for great fighters to easily communicate what they can do instinctively
:deal But just for the "**** of it" let's roll with dudes thread. (I assume TS means because Fighter A is trained by the "Great" he/fighter automatically absorbs & inherits their style") Pernell Whitaker Train: Antonio Margarito/Paul Williams (A defensive octopuss) Julio Cesar Chavez Train: '03/'05 Ricky Hatton, Build up his punch resistance.
In reality prob not, Ask yourself why he don't train his own sons? Would I like Margarito to be defensive w/the ability to pick off shots while still being as aggresive, Then Hell yeah...
Really good thread. Michael Moorer or Pernell Whitaker train Arreola. Supposedly Arreola is very stubborn according to Ramirez, meaning Arreola is spoiled and used to getting things his way in the gym. That won't be happening with Moorer or Sweet Pea. Hopkins train Pavlik or Canelo. Daniel Zaragosa train Salvador Sanchez's nephew. Hearns training Williams is a great choice.
