Frequent reader of the boards but don't post too often. I just have a feeling tonight, especially having seen him at the weigh in, that Rafa Marquez is going to come through a punishing fight with a TKO win around 8 or 9. If he can compete to even 80% of the level he showed in the Vasquez fights, his hard straight rights and combination punching will hurt Juanma and eventually break him down after both men land plenty and test each other's wills in what will probably be a back and forward war for however long it lasts. Anyway, good luck to both fighters and hopefully it can be a fan friendly fight.
Juanma's not fought anyone close to the level of Marquez or Vasquez (don't link the Ponce de Leon KO, he's a wide puncher and Marquez would've blown him away early too). Marquez is more than a live dog in this fight and by taking this high risk fight whilst building the fighter towards a superfight, either Arum is supremely confident in Lopez or thinks deep down Gamboa's the better fighter.
Ok but nobody stepped up like Juanma did. Marquez and Vazquez could had steeped up to fight PDL, but did they? NOPE! So we will never know if he would had gotten rid of PDL the same way or better than Juanma did.
I put some money on Marquez for this one, but damn I did not know the man was KO'd FOUR times in his career!
