Here we go my boxing friends. Our beloved Congressmanny who is obviously now past his prime has openly admitted in 60minutes his focus is now on politics but will still continue to box which made me sob just a bit as I was hoping he would now retire. Let's pray he does as boxing is a dangerous sport.:oops::oops:

What made my pekpek tingle in the 60minute interview was how they described Muhammad Ali who was great but fought with a dominant hand. I watched again all the Ali videos of my boyfriend and it's true Muhammad Ali fought with one hand as his left was virtually unused.

Does this say something about Congressmanny then? :happy

Ali's left was virtually unused? Ali's primary weapon was his jab.

    Ali > Pacquiao.

    Close thread.

That Ali could do more with one hand than a guy who uses two? I dunno.

He KO'd Bonavena with a left hook. And Bonavena was never KO'd before, even by Frazier.

Hey guess what I am watching that at this very moment. Forgive me as I'm just eighteen, but seeing the Ali videos makes me think he uses it more for the jab.... and I see Tommy Hearns or even Larry Holmes both use it more effectively! Watch it twice or even three times if you don't believe me (Take note: JAB):good

Does this mean it's because he engaged his opponents more getting hit just to hit which makes it essentially a battle of wills which we all know Congressmanny is a master of? :think

Think about it.... it does not take an expert to see how Ali was a receiver of punches. And this made him predisposed even more to his illness.

And when Congressmanny retires healthy without any of the Ali ilness....then who is the greater then? :good

Ali wouldn't have much success in this era. He would beat American-level professionals like Briggs, Brewster, Barrett, Brock, and Banks, but lose to the Euro-level athletes that prevail in the sport today.

Ali got laid out by second tier Euro HW Henry Cooper and had to cheat to win that 1st fight, Cooper was basically a LHW, weighing in at just over 175, just food for thought.

Everyone secretly knows that Ali is vastly overrated, he was outspoken during a racial revolution in America so everyone kind of sees him as some larger than life figure. He was an elite in a great era, and he won some and lost some and got a couple gifts with Norton and Cooper. There's no way to convince Americans of that though, espeacially old ones.
