Ali beat the fiercest level of competition in the history of the Heavyweight division, and most of his "close fights" (not robberies by definition), came about when he was on the slide. He stands alone at Heavyweight, and I doubt anyone will ever surpass him. The idea that he received a gift in the Cooper fight is outrageously stupid. He got caught before he was champion, knocked down and hurt, and then he came out for the 5th and put on a mighty beating on Cooper, stopping him in the same round as he predicted before the opening bell. ...A bad man...would most likely clean up today's division without making it out of first gear.
no, there's no way to convince YOU he was an ATG. boxing fans world wide see ali as the greatest, its not just narrowed down to americans. it doesn't take an amercian to see what ali did cant be replicated by any other champion outside of joe louis. so please, dont speak for everyone else because its you, the village idiot irlandsk, and klitschko ball washers that view him as overrated. lol you probably are a klitschko fan
You don't have to convince me, he's definetly an All time great, top 10 all time no doubt. You just have to realise that he's consistantly rated as the greatest of all time, which he clearly isn't. He just drew a lot of attention to himself, backing it up most of the time. When the average man on the street is asked who's the best boxer of all time, you'll get Ali almost everytime, sports media is like that as well. I'm just saying he's not as great as the standards put on him, in fact no boxer is as great as that.
Ali is only consistently ranked the Greatest fighter of all time by the casual fan. I'm of the opinion that Ali would have been lauded by the hardcore fan even more than he is if he had been another Joe Louis, minding his own business outside of the ring. The fact is, irrespective of any word he ever said in public, he still has the most impressive win column in the division's history, and that's why he is ranked, quite rightly, as the best there's ever been. I don't even consider Louis a close second, he's a distant second. He'd make a mockery of today's division.
Actually he wasn't... Ali had a right and a left.. anyone that has watched Ali fights know that.. he stopped bonavena with his left, dunn with his right. by the way Ali is definitely not overrated. he's definitely top 2 for the heavweights, and top 5-10 P4P. hate it when guys like you post these stupid threads by the way, manny doesn't compare to Ali AT ALL. :verysad
Hey pekypekpek why don't you just shut your smelly pekpeky up and give us esb a treat? We are all waiting for the third installment of Pacquiao-Margarito 24/7? :good Got none yet my sunshine? :good
shut the **** up please. there's absolutely no evidence behind that. wlad losing to c level fighters proces this. so does vitali getting punched around and cut by an old Lewis and quiting against Byrd it's just bull****, all of this about the klitschkos even dreaming about beating Ali. even that Ali entrance **** bugged me a little.
Ali spent 3 years of his absolute prime in exile due to his draft dodging issues,God knows what this absolute legend would have achieved if he had been allowed to fight through that period. Ali is in my top 3 Fighters ever,he had it all,Class,Speed and could give and take a punch, but most of all a real tactical Boxing Brain,Ali is the yardstick in my opinion.!!!!! Mahunga
What does that have to do with the Cooper fight? Please stay on topic, you're making a mockery of yourself.
