Mayweather would use his elbow to lever opponents off him. Lewis also used his elbow and would use his bodyweight and lean down on this opponents.
He also held his opponents head with one glove and hit them with the other. Lewis was a big fouler. See Grant and Bruno fights. He could have be DQ'd in both.
No they fouled. lefthook already spoke of Lewis, Leonard would hold his opponent's head down sometimes and nail them with an uppercut and he even lowblowed Hagler. Then again, I saw Hagler foul too but I'm not sure if it was on purpose or not. Mayweather would sometimes position people with his elbow. I'm not sure Frazier fouled but good shoutout to Hearns. Guys I don't remember seeing foul on purpose if ever are Ezzard, Morales, and Arguello.
When did he hold incessently the last time? Was it more than Ali did against Frazier the second time around?
The point was mostly tongue in cheek. His age is a major handicap and has been for at least ten years now. However, when he was winning, he was also fouling. That doesn't necessarily imply that he would not have won without fouling, but the fouling was almost ever-present.
Mayweather is very much a dirty fighter.I think your falling into a trap of thinking otherwise just because he is both a counter punches and a very skillful boxers as opposed to roughouse inside fighter. Lewis was not a squeeky clean fighter either.
frazier fouled. he even low blowed michael parkinson while they were goofing around promoting ali frazier 2. he consistently threw low blows but i think that wqas jus because of his bobbing and weaving style and his short height and constant body attack. they werent really low either, just slightly below the belt, probably not on balls.
From the 4th round onwards, Holyfields' charging, rhino-like attempts to butt Toney were truly comical.
