Cuban sensation Guillermo Rigondeaux is fighting this week against Panamanian Ricardo Cordoba which should be his toughest fight in the pros. Rigo's natural boxing abilities should be too much not only for Cordoba but for any other boxer within the 112-130 lbs. Rigondeaux is far way superior to any boxer within this weight limits and he'll have time t prove this. Cordoba is going to be just the first step toward new fighting chapter, but remember that name:Guillermo Rigondeaux. His trainer Rodney Shield, has said that Rigo is the best boxer he's ever had...and that's a lot to say, period. Juan Manuel Lopez, Gamboa, Chris John,etc....all these boxers would lose easily with the master of master, Rigo. Yes, we all want to see him being a little bit more aggressive but his opponent can be aggressive too and that's Rigo's specialty, wait and hit...and don't get hit. Look at Rigo's fight and tell me how many times you see his opponents landing a single punch at him? Just on very rare occasions, because Rigo's natural defense skills make him a defense monster. Punch power, that's another topic, because none of us has ever seen any boxer in our life time to can knockdown almost all his opponents with body shots....only a true punching master could do that...Guillermo Rigondeaux.
Agreed. Rigo's gonna conquer all. As long as he doesn't get too caught up in the well-derserved riches and fame, he'll be on top for a few years.
Rigondeaux will dominate the low-grade Puerto Ricans and Mexicans who hold belts in the division with ease, but should avoid some of the upcoming Euro-level professionals in the ranks.
I don't know, maybe 3 years, who knows. It's not his age, but the incredible amount of amateur fights he had that concerns me.
I like what i've seen from him so far...I would really like to see him on top, dude is hella skilled. :good
Yes, very very skillful, I hope he has time to make it. He needs to be rushed, I would put him against López right today, no kidding.
he coulsnt stop Lante Addy and already people are hailing him as GOD! Seriously until he has beaten a top 10 people need to get real with their expectations.
