I,after my great fight ,starred in a motion picture ,with another alltime great of another weight,and sparred together.Wonderful to have seen us together in this picture,along with 2 other HOFers.What is my name and what is the movie.? Hint- Max Baer was not in this movie ?
Pittsburgh Kid, with Billy Conn who sparred with Henry Armstrong. Freddie Steele, Jack Roper and referee Arthur Donovan was also in the film.
Yes hh,it was The Pittsburgh Kid, which I first saw when it came out in 1941 .One of the first time i as a youngster saw a movie alone.Conn just fought his great fight with Joe Louis a few months before. I vividly recall the scene where henry armstrong enters an outside training ring and spars with the larger Billy Conn.Conn towered over Armstrong..Very thrilling'to see the two great fighters spar. Years ago i saw the picture on TV, but not since then..I recall Freddie Steele and Arthur Donavan ,the ref, in the movie...Take care Henry...b.b.
