Hill probably outpoints Griffin with his jab which is backed by his far greater height and reach advantages compared to the relatively short Griffin in a dull and closely contested bout. Might even end in a surprise knockout as Griffin was rather suspect and Hill had a tendency to pull them off sometimes.
Griffin post Jones - Hill beats him widely. Griffin from Jones 1 - I think Hill wins in a pretty close fight.
So, Griffin is a mythical fighter like "Tokyo" Buster Douglas and "Prime" Mike Tyson? Griffin wasn´t really better in the first Jones fight than in any other, he had the right tactics and the right man in the corner. That´s it. Hill is much better than him and wins an easy one anytime. Perhaps even a late stoppage.
Montell is exactly the kind of guy Hill fought in 15 or so of his 25 title fights. Virgil Hill wins an easy decision over Griffin. The guys Hill fought were just like Griffin. I am surprised how underrated Hill is. I think his resume and title fights and record rounds in title fights makes him a great.
Hill at lightheavyweight when he was in his first reign before Hearns beat him was pretty good and had a nice counter left. Lasisi,Leslie Steward and Kinchen all were stopped with it.
Yes this would be horribly boring, but Griffin with Futch in his corner always had some trick up his sleeve if he didnt get knocked out. I dont think Hill knocks out Griffin so I see an ugly fight.
Griffin could not beat Virgil Hill. Virgil had that boxing style where he would box and box and easily win against guys like Griffin. Easy fight for Virgil.
