The nature of stepping-up kind of dictates that you haven't beaten a man that level before. That being said, Haye has a much better resume than the vast majority of their opponents. Wlad in particular lost to much worse fighters in his prime. What leads you to think he can handle Haye-like speed and power? He's definitely never done it before. All I said is that if Haye gets his conditioning right and doesn't gas he has the speed, power and movement to beat a Klit. I'm not saying he would be the favorite, I'm just saying he'd have a decent chance under those circumstances. Why is that so hard to take?
The Klitschko's aren't "draws" because at this point it's a forgone conclusion they are going to win, because there is NO ONE left to offer them a legitimate challenge other than each other.
Come on man, history does not support that statement in any way. Tyson was a massive draw throughout his run in the 80's regardless of his poor opposition. He looked far more invincible than Wlad and everybody loved it. Wlad isn't a draw cos he's boring as **** to watch, fights like a scared little ***** and eeks out decisions and late stoppages against much smaller and out-of-shape opponents.
Nicky's line of Murses are still the second highest selling consumer product in Russia. I use mine to carry a spare wolf shirt with me at all times.
I watch boxing...that's how I arrive at the conclusion. #1 Haye in his current form is a sloth, he plods around the ring and punches sporadically, his hand speed is good, but his workrate to this point has been pathetic. Against either Klitschko, they will jab and badger him from the outside because he doesn't have the workrate to fight his way inside, if he did get inside he doesn't have the aggression to fight off their clinch and make it worthwhile. Hence he may "try" to get inside but will essentially take punishment, get tired of trying, and simply try and survive and make this one of the most dissappointing fights ever. #2 You talk about Haye's power, while not mentioning either of K brothers power. They are both more powerful than Haye, their KO percentages speak for themselves, and the general thought is that Haye has a glass jaw, to me either Klitch and a glass jaw mix like two dicks with no chick. #3 He's already beaten mentally as demonstrated by his actions, he acts like a punk kid chasing a professional down in an airport, with camaras and ****, and fronting them out, yet doesn't have the sack to go through with it. He expected K2 to blow him off and him make his name off of "they're ducking me", but to his surprise when they both have made repeated attempts to get him in the ring, he's shyed away. If you want to talk about it being a money deal, whatever dude, I don't recall him running up to the Klitschko's talking about "If you are willing to give me more money than I deserve or have ever earned in my life, and possibly more money than any challenger has ever recieved in a championship fight, even though I've proven nothing and nobody even knows who the **** I am, other than I'm the guy who fronted the Klitschko's in an airport...I will beat the **** out of ya'll and rid the division of Klitschkos".
"eeks out decisions"...come on dude, who has he eeked out a decision against? The dude fights who he can get to fight, I mean who do you want him to fight? He can't help dudes coming out of shape and whatever, I assure he's coming in shape though, the man is pro and should be respected as such. Haye hasn't demonstrated anywhere near their level of professionalism, hence he doesn't get that kind of respect.
1) Haye has always had a decent work-rate and he has very good movement. To say he plods around is weird and incorrect. 2) Wlad has good power and a Glass Jaw also. Vitali doesn't have such great power but he is much less mobile at this point. Both have their flaws and both could be beat if Haye is disciplined and doesn't gas. Again, the Klits would be favorites but Haye would have a good chance. 3) Haye wants the fight but he won't give Wlad 50-50 if he only brings 3.5mn EURO in TV money. To say he's mentally beaten has no basis in reality.
Sorry, "eeks out" was the wrong thing to say. I meant he's won decisions over a couple of guys he should have stopped in a few rounds and not looked particularly stylish doing it. You're right that he's a consumate pro. I'd never say anything different.
Davo, you've made some good points, and you're man enough to correct yourself when you misspeak. I'm in agreement that Haye could ice Vlad if he's prepared properly. Also, I don't think that most of these guys realize how naturally small Lamon Brewster is. He fought at 200 in the ammies, and he is quite pudgy even at 230 lbs. I'd say that with proper diet and pulling a little water he could make cruiser. Chagaev and Ibragimov could as well. On another note, Vitali lost to Chris Byrd who was no bigger naturally than Thompson.
Purity is a guy who would knock Thompson out. Davo has a smart mouth, by the way, but I don't mind discussing it respectably if you wish.
My arguments have not been "discreditied." You simply have your fingers in your ears like a litle *****. Can't argue with stupid. Its not difficult at all: Wlad has beaten much better competition much more impressively, and Haye was stopped by a guy woudlb e beaten by Ross Purity. Haye is terrified to fight either Klit, and everyone knows that. Niko was not in his prime, and he is recovering from surgeries from chronic injuries. In any event, Valuev was already handled by Chag, who was subsequently destroyed by Wladdy. Haye' performance agaisnt Nikki was ****, by the way.
Vitali should stop talking about Haye! Not worth it anymore. Everytime he get a question about him, he should just answer David who?
