Froch and Abraham have both gone 12 rounds with fighters who aren't qualified to mow Glen's lawn. Neither one would stop The Road Warrior.
I don't think Froch would knock Johnson out, but I think Abraham can bang him out with those short, fast, explosive punches.
The real question is...when Johnson lands his overhand right on Froch/Abraham...will Tarver immediately reference his fight with Jones?
He was not. Max said Johnson body look soft in which he's saying Johnson is out of shape. But in the Green fight Johnson was in a very good shape.
Abraham's defense makes it less likely that Johnson will find the same kind of success with that punch.
Johnson has some good defense in his own right. Johnson defense is almost like Abraham with the turtle way by having his guard high.
You're, right. Johnson has that Cus D'Amato style defense in a way. Moving foward, hands held high. But I'm not sure he can move foward and stay in Abraham's range. If it was me, the last place I'd want to be is on Abraham especially considering Abraham's short stature will make it difficult for Johnson to utilize his style as effectively as he does against taller opponents.
That's a really good question...I mean traditionally the way these styles match up it usually favours the bigger puncher, which is obviously Froch...but with Johnson's granite chin who the **** knows....I'd probably favour Froch b/c Johnson wasn't landing that much and those shots that ****ed Green up would just make Froch smile a little. I think it would look a lot like the Cloud fight but froch is a slightly better boxer so I think he`d probably pull it out a little more convincingly. Lets not forget Allen Green had absolutely no fìng bussiness being in this tournament and couldn't hold the rest of the opponents jock straps....so don't everyone start going crazy on Johnson cause he ****ed him up.
Johnson knows all the tricks, has a steel chin and is good technically. Froch has a lot of intensity and scrap, but doesn't have the experience or technical ability. Its going to be a good fight, but I would favor Johson. I think Froch won't be able to bring anything Johnson hasn't seen before. Meanwhile, Johson will bring tons of experience from a higher level than Froch has ever worked.
