Glen did what he was suppose to do with a guy coming off a knockout loss. He went straight at him. I don't understand why Steward, a man that has been around the game, called him amateurish & unprofessional that round. Am i the only one who was annoyed by the black Wayne Newton's commentary during that round?
Steward was just calling the fight out of anger towards Tarver for ****ing Roy up. I felt the exact same way. I was just waiting for Glen to slow down and Roy to START...start doing SOMETHING...ANYTHING. But it never happened. I felt a lot of animosity towards Glen for KOing Roy. Like who the **** had Glen knocked out previously, EVER? Its like Holmes beating Muhammad Ali. But in hindsight, Johnson did a great thing, and it was as good a win as Tarvers.
Glen Johnson is a great fighter. It took him a long time to get there but his wins against Roy Jones and Antonio Tarver showed his success was no fluke. That year alone he beat the two best lightheavyweights in the world and at least one all time great in Roy Jones jr. Anyone that faces Glen Johnson is in deep in this tournament. They better outbox him if they can. He is going to be very strong and hard to handle for anyone at 168.
I give Tarver all the credit for destroying Roy in the second but that ****ed Roys mentality up real bad. He was scared off doing anything against Glen and after that KO...how could you ever be the same?
