atsch This fight was in 1998!! No it is the year 2010 and Wlad workes since 6 years with Emanuel Steward. That is a difference.
Haye has zero chance of beating either Klitschko. Haye signed a contract and ran away! He lied, then he broke an implied contract and ran away and hid. He then signed to fight a totally unranked fighter. Haye knows he would get knocked out and has proven it by his actions.
Good lord! Carl Thompson is a chamionship caliber guy who had fought as low as 171. He aged into being a cruiser- he was 40 years old when he stopped Haye. Ross Purity is a hard chinned, power punching full-blown heavy journeyman with good wins not only agaisnt Wlad, but also agaisnt Joe Hipp, Jorge Louis Gonzales, and in my book, Tommy Morrison. No comparison here. Purity by brutal knock out.
So for example do you consider victory over heavyweight journeyman a bigger achievement, than victory over middleweight world champion?
Not in some kind of "pound per pound greatness" sense, no. But my friend, that is not what we are discussing. I said that Purrity would knock Thompson out, and you took exception. What we are ultimatley talking about is Haye's chances against Wlad here, and in a real, one on one, head to head sense, The Boss, who was a little more than just an ordinary journeyman, would have handed Carl Thompson his own head. Which is why Davos bizzarre cheerleading and constant pointing out Wlad's defeats makes no sense. Thats how we got here. Haye was stopped by a 40 year old former LHW who could not defeat Wladdy with a ball bat. What is more, Haye's high end victories are not in the same leauge as Byrd, Ibragimov, and Chagaev. Haye hasn't even got a decent power punching heavy like Peter, on his record.
I dont really believe that heavyweight journeymans could routinely knock out cruiser world champions. Watch Brian Mintos battle with Marco Huck or Juan Carlos Gomezes matches in heavyweight for example. True. But then again Haye was cruiserweight then and his stamina problems in that weight doesnt necessarily affect him same way in heavyweights Maybe although I would say that victory over Valuev and old Ruiz are close or better than victories over old Byrd and Ibramigov.
Chagaev really did beat Valouev, Haye did not. Haye ran,did not throw punches and was given a gift. Chagaev was the WBA champion, he won it in the ring. WBA gave Valouev the title so they could give their favorite the paper title. Vlad stopped Chagaev, won WBA title in the ring. Haye is so afraid of Vitali and Vlad it's sick. Hell, even Roy Jones beat Ruiz. Tua took a few seconds to knock him out.
Dont forget the reigning IBA Champion James Toney outclassed Ruiz too. Then bull**** comission stole Toneys title. Toney won it in the ring and is still the unified IBA/WBA heavyweight champion
And Ruiz deserved a decision over Valouev more so than Haye, by far, so did Holyfield. Haye is trying to get out of his mandatory fight with Chagaev. He plans to fight Holyfield.
As much as I am looking forward to seeing Haye fight a Klit, I'm far more interested in seeing who wins the event.
