Wait a minute - Andre Ward was awarded 2 free S6 points when his buddy pulled it out?

Now this is getting downright ridiculous. If I read correctly, Andre Ward doesn't even have to fight in Stage 3 (Bika is non-S6) because he's already locked in the semi-finals with 4 points, but just to make sure he'll be the tournament leader no matter what happens in Froch-Abraham, Showtime manipulated the scoring system awarding Ward two points for free? If that is true, Arthur Abraham should pull out right now as his 3 points qualify him too, maybe take on a tune-up and ask for 2 - what the hell! FIVE points - wouldn't that be cool?

Understand that with the manipulated scores Ward is set up for the easiest SF fight possible since the #1 guy faces the #4, who will likely be soon-42yo Glen Johnson (or would've been Allan Green if he won). Ward is also guaranteed to avoid Abraham, as even if AA loses he'll be #3 due to the tie-breaker, or at worse, if AA wins, Froch coming from two losses will be #4.

Andre Ward is a superb, P4P caliber fighter, but this never-ending BS makes us morally impossible to support him. From day one he's getting advantages over the others, 3 hometown fights (including a hometown ref allowing dirty tactics), opponents replaced for easier ones, getting a 'vacation' while others have to fight through stage 3 (even though ALL 4 - Ward, Froch, AA and Johnson are GUARANTEED to move through since there's no one else left), plus the balls not to start negotiating the Dirrell fight, the rumors back then of possibly pulling out for an HBO contract, oh, and the reports of Ward being a customer of Master Steroid himself, Victor Conte.

Speaking of the Super Six scenarios. Can someone explain it to me why is Froch-Abraham happening - at all? We already have 4 fighters locked for the semis with Johnson only fighing once and Ward twice, isn't it a disadvantage for Froch and Abraham - and espcially for the loser of their fight - to enter the semis with THREE hard fighs in a row? What makes this whole mess even more ridiculous that a Froch-Abraham rematch is very likely: if Froch wins, there's gonna be two AA-Cobra fights in a row, now matter how the first one will look. The whole Super Six should've gone for the SFs straight after Stage Two, but then Dr. Shaw Hi turned up...

Showtime kinda messed up, im frustrated how they dont properly clarify whats going on. They rely on people assuming and guessing on how the tournament will progress.

I really don't understand why the Bika fight is a non-Super Six fight. I guess because it would cause a problem in that if Bika beat Ward on points and Green or Johnson had won on points so that they both had 2 points than there would be no way to decide who made it into the semis. I don't know, I mean Hershman is doing what he can with the hand he's been dealt.

There's a tie-breaker in case of a points tie: whoever won the more rounds on the official scorecards gets the better ranking, so it wasn't the reason. It was simply the desire of Showtime to have Ward as the tournament leader after 3 rounds, and the only way to do that was to put Ward-Bika outside of the S6 and manipulate the scores.

But here's the next funny thing: if Bika wins, the WBA belt is out of the tournament!

So right now it is Ward on 6, Abraham & Johnson on 3, and Froch on 2?

Yeah...The "Super 6" was a great idea. But man, you know it's bad when a fight in the "Super 6" is the under-card for a 126lbs fight...DAMN!!!

That is correct. And even if AA gets 3 vs. Froch, Ward will remain #1 due to the tie-breaker.

    Nope.

    http://espn.go.com/sports/boxing/bl...id/5453402/super-six-tiebreaker-scenarios-set

Scorecards are one of the tiebreakers, but in order, the tiebreakers go as follows :

    1. Head-to-Head (not relevant as AA and Ward haven't met)
    2. Knockouts
    3. Scorecards
    4. Coin flip

However if it's changed since Dr Shaw-high's interference, then I guess I'm wrong!

Ward was already a lock for the semis. Dirrell pulling out was counted as a forefit and he was given 2 points. Why are you bitching about this? Ward still has to fight a tough opponent in Bika. And b/c of contract obligations they could not just go in to the semis. That's one less pay check for the fighters who joined in good faith and are still in the tourney.

Showtime now adds Bute to there roster in an effort to make things right b/c of all the pullouts in which they had no control over and some people still crying. Instead of bitching y'all should just cancel your showtime subscriptions and don't watch.

Incorrect AA will be #1 b/c the tie breaker would be knock outs. AA would have 2 Ward would have none.

Super6 is awesome. Who gives a **** if Ward was awarded two points, he'll whoop Bika's ass anyways.

It was weird, but ultimately inconsequential.

It's getting clearer who they want to see win. Never mind giving him 2 points, he should be deducted points...afterall neither he or Dirrell wanted that bout, neither even tried for the bout...and Ward has benefited from Dirrell's excuse.

The point of the tournament is for the best in the division fighting the best, who cares about points? ''Oh no we might have to watch Abraham-Froch II or Ward-Froch, this is horrible!''
