I think part of what is going on is the Klits were willing to offer Adamek a fight with a good-pay day, and then down the line if Tua can redeem himself he gets a shot at Wlad as the WBO mandatory. Now that plan is shot because Vitali will face his mando first....and he's still going to want Haye or Valuev afterwards. So it will be interesting to see whether Adamek will fight Wlad or take another warm-up. I would like to see him fight Haye or Mormeck instead, but that would take Tomasz off his game plan of fighting tall guys in prep for Vitali. So perhaps a fight with a Tyson Fury or Dimitrenko type fighter might be viable.
I think after the Harrison debacle, Haye will be pressured to fight a real contender and the Adamek fight would make financial sense as well. It would not surprise me to see Haye-Adamek in March.
How can Tua legitimately be #2 after drawing Monte Barrett and that was the toughest guy he's fought in the last 7 years?
Some new Adamek promo here. A quite good revision of his career. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3zPbjl8arZ8[/ame]
I was at the weigh-in today. To me, I thought Adamek looked a little soft and flabby compared to the way he's looked recently. I'm going to post the video shortly...
One of my favourite things about the Maddalone fight has been the insight provided by JoeDota on the main page comments sections. Vinny certainly came to fight and he offered Tomasz a much more LIVE opponent than Harrison did to Haye. Vinny and his team seem like Adamek's in many ways, respectful and honourable. All the best.
I like the last 2 options. RJJ is a waste of time, circus fight. I know Main Events don't want Adamek taking risks before getting his promised title fight, but Adamek should step in and tell Ziggy and Kathy that, out of self respect, he needs to face a top 10 opponent next. RJJ, Bhop, Mormeck or Holyfield do nothing for Adamek's career. I'm affraid, though, that Adamek feels comfortable leaving all decisions up to his managment. And why not? So far they've done a superb job managing his career. But a steady diet of bums, when you're considered the best contender in the entire division, ain't good for anyone's career. If they pick a weak opponent next, they are simply playing it too safe and not having enough faith in Tomasz's abilites. Adamek should face someone of note, next. The tentative April date gives Adamek good time to rest and prepare for a stiffer challenge.
I think Vitali is most dangerous but Adamek is fast. And just like the announcer said he's got a lot of leverage and speed on his punches.
Nice vid I found on youtube. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aq8KF7eNBN8&feature=grec_index[/ame]
