According to an article on the Scene. Sampson Lewkowicz , John's adviser, says that JuanMa's been trying to get a fight with John but got denied due to John and Gamboa having to fight each other after Johns next fight. JuanMa also wanted a rematch against Marquez but can't due to Marquez having a hairline fracture on his shoulder.

Lewkowicz also happens to be Caballero's adviser as well said that Caballero's "ready, willing and able to fight Lopez in March".

I'm glad that the WBA are forcing a John-Gamboa fight. A win against a top fighter like John would only make the eventual JuanMa-Gamboa fight even more important.

If Marquez won't be ready in time for March, there's no better fight to be made than JuanMa-Caballero. You'd have thought that JuanMa would want the chance to shut him up after all the trash-talking Caballero has been doing. I don't like the fact that JuanMa has been saying Caballero doesn't draw as much money as him - we all know this is a fight the fans would love to see.

Juanma should just go ahead and fight Caballero. From the outside looking in , it definetley looks like he is avoiding him.

John-Gamboa? Should be interesting I wonder how that will go. Will John's technical abilities overcome Gamboa or will Gamboa's explosiveness get him the W. Don't know who I think will win yet. Lopez-Cabellero lets do it!!!

Shame that the WBA don't take the same moral high ground and make Sturm fight Golovkin. If they are gonna force John to face Gamboa , then do it in all divisions where they have a super and regular champion.

This could wind up looking really bad for Lopez if he doesn't get in with Caballero.

Call out a fighter who's already known to be tied up, then ignore the 2,016oz gorilla in the room? That is called stepping in it.

Arum already said that he's basically going to fight a nobody and then fight Gamboa in June.

i dont think is Juanma, its maybe Arum.. he knew RM would be easier(well, didnt go that easy either)but he doesnt want to risk a fight spoiled by caballero.
personally i think juanma beats caballero...caballero is not a big puncher, and to beat juanma u have to rock him hard and follow with speed and power, and i see only Gamboa ready for that task at 126.
But Juanma's defense is weak and his chin isnt the greatest, i've seen him HURT(no down only but HURT) against matgwa, concepcion and marquez. So, Caballero could easily spoil the party.

juanma came up with a bull**** excuse for the fight not to happen. he said the fight wouldn't make money. well caballero's last fight was on HBO, and this next one will be on the marquez-katsidis PPV, he is well known enough for the fight to happen. he needs to step up and give caballero his shot.

I couldn't agree more - the WBA are complete and utter scum but I guess even a broken clock is right twice a day.

Given that they have 3 "champions" at Middleweight, maybe they can have some sort of mini-tournament to crown a unified WBA Champion eh?

The best case scenario for the 122 division is for JuanMa to fight Caballero, and the winner to face the winner of Gamboa-John. There's no good reason for it not to happen.

Well, so far he is been match carefuly, Luevano was a mediocre fighter, keeping the belt warm, for Lopez, caballero or Gamboa, and Marquez is an old, small and worn out warrior, that almost pull it off, some ppl here are calling him a quitter, what a shame, imo Gamboa should fight CJ ( he say he wants a fight, before Gamboa) and Juanma caballero, the winner facing each other.
