Im looking at it a bit, and its really weird. why did he and valuev never met up in the ring? After that chagaev beat valuev and then wlad beats chagaev but doesnt get his belt, how the hell does chagaev even have a belt that isnt on the line if there has been a titlefight between valuev and ruiz a year earlier? and why didnt they fight wlad after that. It is really corrupt that that belt isnt in wlads hands.

in my opinion the wba is a corrupt organisation anyway and everyone knows wlad is the real champion, i dont dislike haye or something do thinks he lacks balls but that belt should really have been with wlad.
It was the corruption within the WBA and King's influence wich stripped the champion (Chagaev) of the belt just before the unification. If the WBA wouldn't have done it, they would have lost a big portion of their ccontrol over the belt and couldn't make bogus titlefights anymore. Well they probably would have made Wlad "super champ" and gone on with their shady business as usual.

He didn't want to fight someone a lot bigger because his normal game plan won't work. And SNV's team was not interested in fighting someone good. So neither party really really wanted that fight to happen. Chagaev gets sick and can not defend the title. Valuev becomes the WBA title holder. Chagaev is "champ in recess". Chagev returns and fails to fight Valuev because he has illness and was not cleared to fight. Valuev still WBA champ. Wlad did not beat WBA title holder, he beat the guy who was stripped of the belt due to failure to defend it. If you think Chagaev was still worthy of being WBA champ, because he never lost it in the ring then by that logic, Lennox Lewis is still the WBA champ. Not really.

well the problem people have is that the real champ "chagaev" never lost in the ring to the current champ "haye". the same with wlad. when he lost his belt to sanders he never won it back off him did he? he never fought the man who beat sanders did he? wlad beat byrd who was not the true champion for the ibf belt. this **** happens all the time in boxing, but for some reason haye is getting stick for it. i dunno, i guess haters will always hate eh?
