Danny Green is so overated. BJ Flores is a solid CW and imo will win. There's nothing special in DG to let me think he may win. Strong punch? I don't think so. Flores has better reach, uses his jab and is stronger. BJF stops him lately.
Mate for all the boxing ive seen over the years its BJ Flores who has the Bull**** record. His two best wins are against average at best fighters and one of them was against Darnell Wilson were Flores was on the back foot the whole time. He has never fought anyone of Danny Green standard that being someone rated in the top ten by Ring magazine. If any fighter was over rated its Flores. Ive researched his whole career and most his fights he won all against guys coming off loses and all them guys are average fighters. **** Danny Green KO'd a in form top ten fighter in Otis Griffin. Flores is going to get hurt if the bookies have him at $5 to win over and at one stage they had him at $7.50 they most know something.
WHAT!?!?!?!?!?!!? That could be the dumbest thing I ever heard. Otis Griffin is the furthest thing from a top 25 fighter let alone top 10.
I always wonder how many people who say RJJ was a shot fighter when Danny fought him took the $4 that was on offer from the Australian Bookmakers for a Danny win (I can only imagine the odds offered by US bookmakers on Danny would have been greater). Plenty of people write that performance off. I backed Danny to win that fight, but the press and forums gave Danny no chance prior to the fight.
The reason why Danny is a massive favourite is because the fights at a catchweight. Flores is a huge cruiserweight so will probably kill himself to make the catchweight
Has anyone else heard that this fight might be aired on American TV (ESPN in particular - or online at ESPN3)? Apparently Green's trainer Angelo Hyder said something to the effect of "the fight will be screened in America so Flores won't want to embarrass himself" and some Aussie posters say there had been some ongoing negotiation to have some US coverage. Right now it's certainly not on the TV line-up (either live or on delay) and it isn't on the ESPN3 schedule. Dan Rafael doesn't seem to have tweeted anything about it.
I didn't know the fight was at a catch-weight and I'd be interested to know if anyone can confirm what weight it's at. At 200lbs, I'd be happy to pick Flores by decision. I don't think he's particularly great but he's a legitimate cruiserweight and I've never really been sold on Green.
BJ is a typical american prettyboy fighter. Padded record with cans, getting a shot at a world beater in Green. That said, I like BJ for the win by KO, because Greens style doesnt beat Flores style, and BJ will use his size to push Green around. As I know there is NO catchweight, and they are in talks at having this on ESPN, probably 3, but hopefully classic.
Flores will win such a wide UD that they will be unable to rob him. These guys are on different levels.
