I expect Saul to be ready by the time he is 22 to start beating the **** out of the top fighters in his division.

Now a days, fighters are not as good as they were in the 90's or 80's....
...You got guys like Paul Williams being considered as one of the best and his record is **** compared to the Champs of the 90's, and he is already towrads the end of his career.

Terrific test for the young gun, the right calibre fight at the right time. N'Dou just beat an undefeated contender and gave Mitchell, Cotto, Witter and Malignaggi (2nd fight) all they could handle, plus has never been stopped - he's a cagey, smart and rock solid veteran and will surely give Canelo some new looks. Although it is held at 150 (or maybe higher?) which favors Alvarez even more, I'm fairly excited for his one, there's gonna be no blowout here, in fact, I expect a nice competitive fight. Don't forget that Alvarez is still only 20.

doesn't mean that this bloke has to match them.

best to learn as much as possible before claiming a major belt. u need to be a very rounded fighter to keep a hold of it. or to gain other belts. no point experimenting with your ring craft in a world title fight.

N'dou is a good opponent for Alvarez. He'll give the young guy some quality rounds, will make Alvarez look good, and shouldn't pull the upset. I don't think Alvarez will stop N'dou but its a possiblity. N'dou is made to order for Alvarez and is getting old, Alvarez is also going to be the bigger guy here so a stoppage is possible. This is a good learning fight for Alvarez but after this I think he needs to take a step up and face a top 10-15 fighter. N'dou, Baldomir, and Cotto are solid gatekeepers and Alvarez will have beaten all three this year. I'd like to see him take that next step up.
