Where do you rate Juan Manuel Marquez as an opponent P4P against KT's opponents

My point is. I think Katsidis as an Australian fighter is fighting the toughest 'in form' P4P fight an Australian has fought even surpassing Kostya. (roy jones was in rip form when talking of green)

I went through Kostyas list and though yep Sharmba Mitchell, Ricky Hattno, Zab Judah, all great fighters, but not as great as Juan Manuel Marquez in MY opinion.

Katsidis has a great resume and JMM adds to it. It could be argued that JMM is on the slide though.....and even then, will Kats get past him?

 

I dont think anyone can say JMM is at his best, But if Kats beats JMM it will still be very impressive and will go a long way to forging the rest of Kats Career.

Mijares was #2 P4P no? Which I didn't agree with but we saw what happened there. Did he have alot of lucky fights in a row after his early losses or did his loss to Vic end his motivation???

Judah, again, he showed he aint all that, but again, did KT do that to him? What would Mayweather be like if he was brutally KO'ed early on - knowing you're not invincible has to have some impact.

Hatton - yeah, not the greatest. Had a lot going for him that night, was tough and brought what he needed to, but not the greatest fighter ever.

Marquez though - you cannot argue against his greatness. His resume is amazing and his skill, determination and outright hardness probably do make him the best and Aussie has fought in a long time... if not ever?

You guys are forgetting when Shannon Taylor fought Shane Mosely. Shane was easily the toughest in form p4p fighter an Australian has fought that i can recall.

 

Oh Thanks Francis, re-reading the OP you could also argue that RJJ was P4P no 1 when Glen Kelly met him.

all in all Kats V Marquez since those has to be on par if not greater than an Australian going up against a P4P in form legend.
