Cotto catchweight was the first time Pac was fighting a real, strong welter and he was 138 his previous fight. Cotto had fought at 146 more than once before so really losing an extra pound didn't effect him. It just ensured a more even fight. Cotto still outweighed Pac on the scales and on fight night. I've got no problem with this catchweight. Once Pac was more solid at the weight he fought Clottey at the limit and he's now fighting a bigger guy at 150. Margarito was making 147 previously so 150 shouldn't effect him either. Pac weighed 145 his last fight, and this fight was put together quickly due to Mayweather's vacation. 150 was logical. Anyone that expected Pac to put on 6-9 solid pounds in 3 months and come in in top shape is an idiot. He'll probably only weigh on the welter limit anyway and Margo will significantly outweigh him. The only problem I have is that this fight is for a 154 title. The WBC is to blame for that, not Pac.
ABC belts don't mean ****, but wait... for all that is holy and sacred, you can't have a catchweight for a belt, the sacrilege!
Horse****. Somebody in Team Pacquiao wanted that "8th title." That's what this is about. Freddie's probably acting up a storm but even if he's being sincere it's 11th hour paranoia at it's most pathetic.
Its fine as long it isnt for a title. When it is pac can come in at 130 for all i care but margarito must have the possibility to fight at the highest weight possible in the weight class.
