    Enlightening.

Contrast this intelligent, insightful and humble version of Tyson with the foul mouthed, inimidating, revolting figure that disgraced himself in the late 90's-early 00's.

It seems getting away from all the negativity and bad vibes that King,Horne and indeed boxing itself had on him has made him a happier and more contented person, despite not having the material wealth that he had back then.

And good on him for that.

It's not all that common for an ex-boxer to become happier once they're retired and the spotlight is off them (just think how many ex boxers lives go into free fall in retirement) but Mike Tyson seems,at the moment to have done just that.

Even physically he looks in great shape too.He looks fit and trim and looks to be actually lighter than when he was fighting.Good to see he hasn't let himself go at all.

^ I'm wondering if he's become more fit because he plans to fight again in the near future. There was a bunch of rumors circulating not so long ago. I truly hope this is not the case.

I want so badly to believe that the Mike we see in these interviews is the real Mike, and not some projected, false, well organised image. Either way, he was a great pugilist, he doesnt deserve to live the remainder of his life in squalor. For me, the ultimate fan - I hope he truly finds peace.

Obviously when talking about Haye-Audley he's been told to hype up Audley and play down Haye to sell the fight, cringeworthy in that respect. Good viewing all the same

To be fair, Lewis & Bruno hyped up Audley too.

I didn't hear them, either they're doing there friends a favour or getting paid for giving Audley hype, pretty sure Tyson would have been paid

I certainly hope Tyson was paid, he needs all the money he can get.

It's the same as with Roy Keane; you might see them as a bit of lowlives/thugs when active, but every time they get interviewed they deliver. Both are insightful about their area and extremely forthright. Makes for beautiful interviews.

Some interesting quotes from the interview:
    (sorry for any small errors)

"...If I actually tried to become champion just being Mike Tyson, just being this guy that just has good skills & strong & fast, & not thinking & regarding myself as greater than what I really truly am, I would have never succeeded. I would of been intimidated of the bigger guys, I would of been hit with their jab, they would of hit me with their basic stuff..."

"...See, then you've got to worry, becuase this guy he no incoming coming at him & then you start to worry now, you know what I mean, he didn't take him out, becuase he's hit the guy, hit this guy, can't do nothing with his speed, he should be beating on the guy, right he should be beating on Ruiz's jab, his jab, boom, instead of trying to knock him out with one punch, he should be peppering him with the jab, hitting him with body shots & set him up. He's not gonna be able to do that with the Klitschkos, you can't fight them like that, becuase these guys are too consistent, they'd be consistent with him, this guy's not being consistent, he's not throwing punches in bunches..."

"...When you watch him fight, when he throws punches, watch him throw the punch, he doesn't move him head, he's not really elusive when you really think about it, he has a disadvantage by being lighter than these guys, he should be very elusive, when you're fighting Heavyweights, a Cruiserweight, a lighter guy coming at you, you have to be elusive, that's gonna be your main asset against a heavier guy, being elusive & not being able to get hit as often as the bigger guys do..."

"...You got to realise that he has to throw punches in bunches, you can't throw one or two punches looking for a knockout with one punch, you have to put them together..."

"...Just incase Saturday he decides to be elusive, he might be a different guy, he has to throw punches in combinations, you can't throw one punch at a time, you've got to connect the dots..."

Hauntingly ironic words coming from Mike himself.

    Tell me about it.

It makes me think that at some point he knew his body was no longer capable of following his own advice long before the public realized it.

He used to say that hates it when people look at him as if he has something that he doesn't. Maybe that's why he's happier now; he doesn't have to keep up a charade anymore.

I agree with his assessment though; Haye is probably not ready for Vitaly or Wlad and would likely be KO'd. These stay busy fights give him the kind of experience he needs to prep him for the Klit bros.

Tyson needs to become a commentator.

I agree also, i dont think he ever wanted to come back to boxing after prison, his heart wasnt in it anymore. But he had to come back because he needed the money.
Don King robbed Tyson of most of his money while they were together, can u imagine what King got upto while Tyson was in prison?
