Froch to beat Abraham quite easily!!!

Discussion in 'British Boxing Forum' started by starmatthew1234, Nov 10, 2010.

  1. I've been thinking about this fight and apart from Knocking Froch down/out in 1 punch I cant see how Abraham can win. Froch has height and reach advantage and should be easily able to out box Abraham who is a slow starter anyway. I'm thinking that Froch could quite easily be 6-3 or 7-2 up after 9 rounds meaning Abraham will have no option but to go for the knockout and therefore leaving himself open to be knocked out himself. The more I think about this fight the more I think it as being an easy points win against the very one dimentional Abraham.

Abraham had very easy fights at middleweight and never faced the best middleweights out there like Pavlik and Sturm. I think Froch's power is slightly overrated but his boxing skills are very underrated. You don't beat Pascal, Taylor and Dirrell with no boxing skills.

Have felt the same way for a long while so can only agree wholeheartedly with you, Dirrell showed Abraham for what he is, powerful and solid but nothing special at all.

When the fight was confirmed i leaned towards Froch. I've watched a lot of Abraham lately and he actually has much better boxing skills than people give him credit for. He is not the predictable plodder that some people think he is, his punch placement is very accurate and his footwork very underated. Despite been beaten soundly by Dirrell, he caught Dirrell with far more clean punches than Froch did. He didnt do that by swinging wildly either, he timed a guy with great reflexes and caught him a nice few times. Dirrell was quoted as saying he was the hardest puncher he has ever been in with. Very hard fight to call.

Sauerland Event made a 2.5 million euro offer to Universum for Sturm to fight Abraham. The offer was made public, so Abraham very much wanted that fight. Universum flatly rejected the offer. As for Pavlik, i think in hindsight it's a good thing for his sake that he didn't go in with Abraham.

I think our boy frochy wins, but it won't be easy. This will be an all out war IMO. I'm not sure Froch is disciplined enough to outbox him, he just can't help himself getting involved. This I the wrong tactic as AA had great 1 punch power.

If he starts quick and wins 4 out of the 5 early rounds, he stays on the bal foot. I it's about even at half way, expect fireworks.

Im banking Froch by a close decision

Saying Abraham has a much better chance at winning by KO than on points is no stretch.

Saying Froch should "beat Abraham quite easily" is.

Abraham stands a very good chance of scoring that knockout, IMO.

I think Froch is favorite to .. but i still give Abraham a good chance. From were I'm standing Froch has a very small chance to win by Ko. Last time he Ko'ed someone was in his first defense against Taylor ,a Taylor that wasn't an established elite Super Middleweight and that Ko came mostly because Taylor's lack of stamina. It's hard for me to believe that Froch will Ko Abraham. The only way I see Froch winning by Ko is if Abraham start's to eager and to early and the fight turns to be very intensive resulting in stamina contest witch personally i think Froch will win and have the chance to a late Ko\Tko.
Abraham need's to feel his opponent, to figure him out. That's why he guards himself and loses the first rounds. With Abraham loosing the first 3-4 rounds i think the chances for AA to win a UD are as big as Froch's chances to win by a KO.
Froch has the advantage of a good jab ,a bigger reach and he know's how to use it witch makes him favorite for a UD .
On the other side Abraham is known for his punching power , a KO artist. he will be highly motivated coming after a fight in witch he " Ko'ed " his opponent and he thinks it was a wrongful decision. That's way I think the chance to a Ko is higher than would normally be.

I'm a big Froch fan, but honestly I see him losing this one. Froch's chin's out there for the taking and Abraham is an absolute wrecking ball. You just can't take the chances Froch takes against a guy like AA, granite chin or not.
    I hope I'm wrong though

It won't be easy for Abraham to reach Froch with the big punches. But when he will... there will be some fast and pwerful hooks that will produce damage.I think Abraham has realized that he can lose the fight if he start's to late or doesn't risk enough so I think Froch will have more problems than Dirrell ( no to mention that Froch doesn't have Dirrells footwork) keeping Abraham away.

Could be argued that Dirrell showed Froch for what he is...

Froch has a great chin, however I noticed in the Pascal fight he does get momentarily stunned when a big punch lands, Pascal never followed up on any of his big shots for the most part, however Abrahams a different kind of animal, he throws 3-4 punch combinations, any of which can KO you, for instance the right hand that sent Taylor to sleep, he was already well into throwing his left hook while Taylor was taking a tumble, the same left hook thats knocked out plenty of guys, most memorably Ghevor.

Froch is bigger and stronger, and as Dirrel said, Abraham doesnt like his body being worked, i think thats where Froch needs to get his digs in and fight smart as well as with his heart.

I agree about Froch's boxing skills being underrated.

But Abraham is underrated as a boxer himself. He is better than he looks. He keeps his guard high and assesses his opponent for a few rounds. He figures out which punches are going to work and then goes to work. He is going to be getting in close to Froch and then throwing bombs. He can also lead with good punches from the outside (check out some of his knockdowns) and work his way inside.

Froch hasn't got the best defence and Abraham is probably the biggest puncher in the game... Abraham has a big chance to win this fight. Technically he has the ability to land on Froch and land big.

I wonder how many times Froch will hit him with body shots and Abraham will turn around and complain.

Tough one to call. Cant believe how small Abraham actually is when i met him and Froch was margially bigger than me. Llook at Abrahams two fights at super middleweight his only two fights Taylor and Dirrell.

Most of the punches Abraham hit with Dirrell didnt really bother him to much apart from the obvious DQ. Taylor knockout well i guess Abraham would have won on the cards either way but we know how Taylor struggles going the distance at this stage in his career as Froch proved. Thats not to say Abraham isnt a big puncher. 25 KO's in 31 is a big ko ratio. But I just dont see him troubling Froch. Froch does leave his chin open but when he gets caught he does a good job in either fighting back or covering up.

I see Froch winning a UD by 2 points.

    Yes i am bias.
