He is clearly shot and that is the one fighter that i dont want pacquiao to face if he were to get by margarito. WIlliams/martinez/marquez floyd, 140 guys even berto. all fine but not mosley, he got shut out by floyd and looked like a fool at times vs mora. I hate the way bob arum is hinting towards a pac-mosley fight. I will boycot the **** if it ever were to happen.
There's no shame in getting comprehensively beaten by Floyd - and it's certainly not proof he's shot. Mosley has never looked the same fighter at 154. He and Golden Boy were the only ones who didn't realise putting him in there with a guy who's a stylistic nightmare for him, was going to end in disaster. Shane needs to go back to 147 and fight Berto. If he wins that like I think he would, people will be falling over themselves, proclaiming he's "back". He's obviously past his best but I'm not ready to call him shot.
I'll back Mosley to the hills but his last two fights have me worried. I was worried after he fought Cotto and Mayorga! He might do well against a fighter that comes to him, where he can use his still great psychical abilities but what does he have left in the tank?
As a big Sugar Shane fan, the only "big" match I want him involved in is settling his business with Berto (who he can still beat, if only barely by now). HBO will pay him well. He'll go out with a win. Best case scenario.
If Pacman beats Margarito Im pretty sure he will fight Mosley in May. I think Mosley can still put up a competitive fight against the smaller Pacman. I just want Shane to have one last big pay day and ride off into the sunset.
Oki oki lets say if he does stay active, fighters he should not fight are slick fast typ fighters and pacquiao and williams. He needs to fight those in your face brawler typ fighters which he can outslug. lets say selcuk aydin,berto,maybe clottey,i could want to seem him against a guy like alvarez for example.
Massive step for Alvarez, but assume he gets past N'dou, I reckon he'll fight another B classer, and if the opportunity arises they'd put him in with Mosley.
Mosley has been shot for some time, yes, even when he beat Margarito he was shot. I can still see a shot Mosley have a chance against slower punchers, because he still has a good chin and can bang, but he should not face fast or elusive boxers like Mayweather or Mora anymore. And certainly not Pac either.
what fight proves he is shot? his sensational last second ko win against a still tough as nails mayorga? his comprehensive loss to floyd mayweather, arguably the best fighter in the sport when fighting? or maybe his draw against a guy who brought the worst style i've seen in years to a big fight, in a weight class that mosley always looks sub-par in? he's not shot. I think he can still take, and be confident in winning big fights with big money against andre berto and everyone below him, as well as guys like alfredo angulo. who knows, is it totally out of the question that he would win against a brawler like paul williams? these are still real possibilities, and a few bad nights do not put him in the shot category.
I'm with IB and a big Shane fan myself as he's my fav fighter. He's like Holyfield in the late 90's, he'll look good against guys there to be hit & come-forward but with movers he's gonna look bad.
I'll admit I did think he was shot after hearing about the Mora fight but it is true that there aren't many fights that can be used to consider Mosley shot as he still ko'd marg & mayorga plus gave a prime cotto a close fight. I do know that he's been past-prime since about '04-'05.
:good This was even becoming evident three years ago when Cotto started outboxing him late...although he wasn't totally shot to bits then. Age has crept on up in the time since, even though he's kept himself in terrific shape and will probably continue to do so well into his retirement.
