    Score:

5 star = Current or former Ring Magazine Champion, 1 or more world title belts won in their career.

4.5 star = Major world title holder, and top 2-4 Ring Magazine Rated

4 star = World title holder, WBC, IBF, WBO, WBA. Top 5-6 Ring Magazine Rated

3.5 star = Bottom level ( 7-10 ) Ring Magazine Rated.. Good enough for a regional belt, and possible world belt depending on the match up.

3 star = Will not crack the top 10 in their career. May get a world title shot, or alphabet elimination match

2.5 star = Will not crack the top 20 in their career, but decent enough

2.0 star = Top 25-50 Box Rec type at best

1.5 star = Will quickly fade after their first or second stoppage loss

    1.0 Hype job

Example of a 5.0, Wlad or Vitali Klitschko
Example of a 4.5 Ruslan Chagaev
Example of a 4.0 to 4.5 Sultan Ibragimov, David Haye
Example of a 3.5 to 4.0 Valuev, Adamek, Povetkin, Johnson, Peter, Gomez
    Example of a 3.5. Arreola

Since many of the below fighters have not beaten a top 25 guy, the below ranking is merely my estimation of how good they will become.

Kubrat Pulev 4.0 stars to 4.5. the best of the bunch. Big, fast and fluid. Is being moved up the ranks quickly.

Robert Helenius 3.5 to 4.0 stars. Big, strong, Skilled. A little stiff. He's being moved quickly.

Dennis Boytsov 3.5 to 4.0 stars. Short, but technical and powerful. Has had some injury issues, but he's still very young.

Vyacheslav Glazkov 3.5 to 4.0 stars. Does everything well. good size, speed, skills and power. A proven chin in the amateurs as well. Could be the best of the bunch

Deontay Wilder 1.5 to 2.0 stars. Was down by a journeyman already. He is the best USA based prospect for now.

    O. Solis 3.5 to 4.0. If his weight is under control, he can be very good.

Tor Hammer 1.5 to 2.0 stars. Nothing special.

Tyson Fury 2.0 to 2.5 stars. Needs to work on his craft, but the size, and reasonable skills are there.

David Price - 1.5 stars. Suspect chin. Will not go far.

Alexander Dimitrenko 3.5 stars. He has hit his potential.

Francesco Pianeta 2.5 stars. Solid lefty. Solid power. Average skills.

Timur Ibragimov 2.5 to 3.0 stars -Hard working over achiever with decent skills, but lacks size and power

Albert Sosnowski 2.0 to 2.5 stars - Gutsy performer.

Alexander Ustinov 2.5 stars - Huge and a hitter, but 40 pounds too heavy. If he can get down to 260, he would rate higher. Former K-1 champ with only one decsion loss in k-1. Undefeated currently in boxing.

One or two of the above boxers will likely be a champion by 2012-2013 if Vitali is retired by then. I do not see any great heavies on the horizon, however I do see some nice depth, and competitive future match ups.

Vitali is old, slow, and lacks one punch power. I expect him to be taken out soon. Wlad? Now that's a different story. No one is beating Wladimir.

You know, getting put on your ass by a journeyman used to be an okay happening to prospects. These days, you get downed and everyone accuses you of having a glass chin. It's true that Wilder may not be the hardiest heavy, but isn't that true of your boy Wlad? Wilder came back from that to score two KD's and then a stoppage, so please put that in context.

Speaking of American HW prospects, has anyone seen Garrett Simon? Kid can be a little wild/ but he has some fast, fast hands.

The Klitschkos are not going to last forever, and the heavyweights who will fill the vacum they leave behind are probably already in the profesional ranks.

We could well be heading for an era weaker than the one that followed the retirment of Lewis.

I ranked all the top up and comers, regardless of nationality. Like it or not, those winning the amateur tournaments, and impressing as pros just are not North American based for the most part.

I closely follow USA boxing. Mike Wilson, and the others who were for a moment ranked #1 have no real shot of advancing.

If Harrison upsets Haye, then I'll know that the whole world has INDEED gone mad ! Not that I think that will happen, but Harrison may put up a better fight than expected. Back to the point,it is a pretty miserable era for heavyweights,on the whole.

I think Harrison has a real shot to upset Haye. Haye doesn't like to trade punches, because he has a suspect chin. Haye plays it safe, and is not a high punch out put type of guy, perhaps because his long term stamina is a bit iffy. I have no doubt Haye can punch, and has good speed. Harrison is past his best by now, but still has size, skills, and some power. His chin is equally as shaky.

I think whomever has the " bottle " to risk throwing hard shots will win. Neither guy will be able to recover once things go south. Haye in my opinion is wildly over rated. I am rooting for Harrison.
