I don't understand why pac passed on the opportunity to fight yuri for his super welter belt because he was too big, and now is fighting margarito who is as big as yuri is if not bigger.
Would've been the easier route too to get that 8th weight class title. :think

Arum fed him to Cotto instead.

because nobody would want to see Pac fight Yuri. Yuri has no following at all. Clottey is a bigger name than Yuri.

If you can't see that Pac is too small for 154 then I don't know what to say.

Foreman is a natural 154 fighter. Margarito just came from 147. Who is is bigger. Someone who has been fighting at 147 for awhile vs a guy who has been fighting @ 154.

Margo had a fight against Santos at 154 and looked to win that fight, but got robbed on the scorecards.

Pac was also just coming up from 145 with Cotto, 140 the fight before that, I don't think he was seriously looking to go up to 150 at that time.

I completley agree. Arum needs his stars fighters to hold straps. Yuri was bound to lose his sooner or later, so it made more sense for Arum to put it in the hands of an in-house earner than let it leave the stable. Oh yeah, and Arum cleaned up on the full ticket for that fight rather than splitting revenue with another promoter.

Because Yuri looked sensational beating Santos who was a big puncher. Also not really the style that Manny is good with. Yuri is a mover who stunned and KD a guy that weighed over 170 on fight night. I bet they are regreting fighting Clottey instead of Yuri now. Yuri did have more of a following along with a 154 pound title.

Despite what folks says about Pac's worldliness and temporal political affairs, he remains a man governed by religious faith and its myths and had articulated to Freddie about not feeling right about fighting rabbis and priests/monks. Margo on the other hand is a fckn' ahole who needs his tijuana machismo dialed down a couple of notches, though I doubt Pac can do it to this new hulklike version of Margo with abnormal vein bulging everywhere, dabbling in something more potent than mere slivers of calcium acetate on gauze pad inserts...pdgf 1, pdgf 2.
