Why would he retire, when he can move up and fight LHW champ Pascal for lots of money. There are plenty of opportunities out there for Froch once the S6 is over.
I think he will spent more time with his family. May be he will have 1 more fight out of the s6 and then retire.
I love Froch but if he loses to AA I'd figure he's probably a couple of fights away from being out of boxing. Cause if he loses to AA and then loses to Ward in the semis thats three straight loses in a row. Froch is the type of fighter that only does well at world level because he uses his will to get everything from his somewhat limited skill set. He really walks the line between world beater and ordinary fighter. My guess is that once he starts to tail off it won't belong until he's getting beat fairly comfortably by the top dogs at 168 and 175.

totally agree especially once his chin gets cracked. I think he can beat AA but it will be a tuff fight and he needs to box and for gods sake get his hands up - i think he would loose to ward but still plenty of other good money spinning fights out there for him. Froch Bute would be a great fight. 2 years time tho i reckon he could be close to the end. hes never been fast so age wont deplete that but theres only so many times u can get hit like he does. Everyone thought Hatton's chin was granite till Floyd and Pac and now people say he had a glass jaw!
I dont know.. Maybe jump to 175 and Fight Pascal again IF Pascal still is big name and vice versa.. I just dont know how long will Froch stay Fresh.. He tend to get hit alot and he likes to go war.. He is tough sob but how tough,:think pretty tough at least like we had seen..:deal
I'm not sure what a guy like Froch does if he really, really loses. He was losing against Taylor, but managed a magnificent last effort and dodged a bullet there. He lost against Dirrell in my opinion, but then he got the decision somehow, so he doesn't have to worry about that. He lost against Kessler, but he's so adamant that he was robbed because it was in Denmark, that it probably doesn't even count for him. In Froch's mind, he's unbeaten and unbeatable... and I believe that's a state of mind he needs to keep fighting. His arrogance isn't mean-spirited, it's about self-preservation, much like with Prince Naseem Hamed - and look what happened to him once he lost. I think there's a good chance that Froch will quit the game if he gets knocked out by Abraham... but I hope he won't. I like Carl Froch.
No I think he is much more grounded then the Prince. I think he could suffer a lose better then the prince did....The main thing that I worry about is that it takes such a momumental effort on his part to get himself in shape and sharp enough to just compete with his skill set I worry thata once he starts losing he'll basically jsut say "whats the point" and stop altogether.

It's widely accepted that Froch, as a general rule, is rough around the edges and makes up for his lack of skills/talent through willpower and determination (which he puts a lot of into his training). Now, he's done well to get to where he is, very well in fact, but his next opponents really bring some incredible facets that are gonna be interesting to see him deal with. Abrahams incredible power may be too much for him, and it's pretty likely Ward will use movement/angles/speed/etc to paste him for 12 rounds. What will be really interesting, win or lose, is how he looks after these fights; fighters get worn as they age and take a beating - how will Froch look after say, his next 3 fights? If he loses his next two I think he'll have a last stab at LWH, then call it a day if he loses. If he wins at LWH he'll stick there then maybe rematch one of the S6 guys up there?
I think no matter what happens in the super 6, froch will move up to lhw and fight pascal then retire.
