For those who don't care about PPV numbers and those type of things, this thread is not for you. vs Gatti 360K http://www.doghouseboxing.com/Chee/Chee041606.htm vs Baldomir 325K http://www.***********.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-96801.html vs Judah 350K http://www.doghouseboxing.com/Chee/Chee041606.htm vs Oscar 2400K http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/boxing/news/story?id=2865349 vs Hatton 850K http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/boxing/news/story?id=3158134 vs Marquez 1000K http://www.bloodyelbow.com/2009/9/25/1054626/floyd-mayweather-juan-manuel vs Mosley 1400K http://www.badlefthook.com/2010/5/11/1467724/mosley-mayweather-in-at-1-4 TOTAL = 6,685,000 PPV buys Is this correct? If you have different numbers let me know and put up the source.
I'll take your word for it, I know the last 4 figures are all correct and the first two I think are, no idea about Judah but like I said, I'll believe it. Where does that put him in comparison to Pacquiao, Holyfield, Tyson and De La Hoya? Anybody know what they're total numbers are?
don't take my word for it, I put up a source for every number I posted. http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/boxing/columns/story?columnist=rafael_dan&id=5793689
Kl. Thanks. I'm gonna hunt for some individual figures. I know the Marquez fights were pretty low on figures, right? That's a shame. Two of the worlds best fighters in closely tested, exciting fights and not all that much generated. :verysad
Pac-JMM 1 wasn't on PPV. Pac-JMM 2 did about 400k, which actually broke the record for fights below 147. So yeah, lower weights just can't generate enough interest to warrant a PPV main event.
Oh right. I see. I thought the first one was a PPV aswell. I thought the second one did a bit less aswell.
Pac's PPV fights: - Morales x 3 - Solis - Barrera - Marquez - Diaz - Oscar - Hatton - Cotto - Clottey And I guess I must be missing one.
That's completely false. Hatton vs. Mayweather is the 3rd biggest PPV of all time. It was 1.7 million. 850'000 refers to the US sales. It sold about the same in the UK as well
Nearly all of those numbers are wrong. Some more wrong than others. But nearly all wrong. De la Hoya was 2.6 million Hatton was 1.7 million (850'000 refers to US sales only. It sold huge amounts in the UK) Marquez was 1.2 million Mosely was 1.6 million If you want a source, just google the top 10 all time PPV events. Mayweather has about 4 of the top 10
