Pac coming in at 144.6 without even trying means that he could fight at LW

He can handle the weight fine, yes. But that doesn't detract from the fact that he's not big at the weight. If a guy weighs in at 144.6 for a 150lb fight, having to intake loads of calories during training to maintain weight, and still manages to have lunch about an hour before that weigh-in, then he's clearly not a 'natural' welter. Natural welterweights like Mosley and Clottey are hitting 160 on fight night. Pacquiao will almost definitely be sub 150 tomorrow.

Nothing new.... We've known this since he fought David Diaz

The guy is a genetic freak.

Speaking of Soto - a bit off topic - can you believe this guy wants to move up another weight division to 140?

Seriously? Every time he fights now he seems to be moving up a weight class...(over-exaggeration).

MW Roberto Duran > LW Roberto Duran.

MW Duran is better than LW Duran yet LW Duran is an ATG at that weight but not at MW? Its not because MW Roberto Duran is worse as he can still beat up LW Duran, its just his opponents are bigger and tougher. If MW Roberto Duran could still make LW, Im sure he would, but he cant. Pac can.

Fighters cut weight not to become better fighters themselves, but to be fighting weaker opponents, and everyone is doing the same so in effect, your average WW is a MW, average MW is a SMW etc. The lowest weight you can get to, without jeopardising your body is your best weight...this has always been the case.

Philla if you're really a Pacquiao fan then you should easily know that Roach has said many times that Pacquiao will never fight at junior welterweight cause he said Pacquiao kills himself to make 140 pounds. And lets face it sure there are big fights at junior ww but in that weight class there's not any mega fights in that weight class in which there's not going to be really big money fights for Pacquiao. The real big mega type of fight is at between ww to jmw.

According to Olu on the British Forum, who's Ajose Olusegun's something-or-other, there was a WBC convention to discuss mandatories for every weight-class and he posted up what was talked about and decided.

He seems to think that Soto informed the WBC of his plans to vacate his lightweight title - which he doesn't want to defend against Antonio DeMarco, who is actually his cousin apparently - and to move up to 140.

I didn't even think he had a problem making super-feather, now he's only just arrived at 135 and won his title and he wants to move up again. Maybe he's just trying to chase the bigger fights nowadays and the likes of Bradley/Alexander/Khan at 140, fights I think he unfortunately probably won't get.

The first time he fought at LW, he already said, he still feels weight drained. He probably can still fight 137-138 catchweight though.

pac is now a natural 140lber who can fight at welter. 135 would be a stretch for him to make at this point as his actual fighting weight is now around 149-150.

Yeah Pac wouldn't even be a naturally large 140 pounder, he could drain his way down to 135 but that would be a bad idea.

the same 14-15 lbs he cut to make 130 for the 2nd jmm fight... and we all know how he looked during the weigh-in for that fight.

pac is a natural 140lber now who can fight at 147.

Yes he is. Pacquiao should go back to 140 and face Bradley. Provided he beats Timothy, that sets up the perfect rubber match with Marquez for the 140 lb title.

Pacquiao vs Marquez would be a farce at this point.
