If you look at the top 10, most of them fought close to the same weight they were in. Definitely, they can win a lot and look good against opponents close to their weight. Pac's jumping to 8 weight division is already at par with Armstrong. Remember that Pac's % weight jump since turning Pro is already higher than Armstrong. He is the only one who can do this while winning over elite fighters.

And if you factor the fact that it is tougher to compete today, that modern day warriors are a lot more technically skilled, fed better, and undergo scientific conditioning; if he beats Margo, no one comes close to Pac's accomplishment going back to several decades.

I will say Pac is already at the top 10 easy.

What about Ezzard Charles, Willie Pep, Sam Langford & Harry Greb?

boxing records don't mean **** with all the titles out there. Pac is fighting against Margo for a vacant title at 154. They can put him in a HW fight for a vacant title against JCC JR and make him 9 weight classes champs. As someone said let Pac retire first, let's see all his accomplishments and discuss after.

Really? Greb only fought around his own weight? Charles? Fitzsimmons? Walker? Duran? Langford? Even Robinson was a former 140lb fighter who became a top 5 middleweight of all-time and fought for the 175 title.

    Dude,

When Hagler and Hamsho were going at it, the Ring belt wasn't considered legit, there were fewer divisions, and the WBO and IBF belts didn't even exist, let alone being considered legit.

When Moore and Marciano were going at it there was only one sanctioning body, and even fewer divisions.

I'm not saying what Pac has done isn't superb; I'm saying you have to put it in context. He's done more than anyone else at least partly because there are more options available now than ever before.

I'll say it again: Hype is hype. And hype sells fights. If the analysts still consider Pac top-15 in twenty-five years, and they may, then fair enough. But, right now, you're comparing an appraisal of Pac at the peak of his hype against people who haven't fought for thirty-plus years. To be an ATG, your **** has to stack up when the spotlight's off you as well as when you're front-and-center.

    Top 30.

Barrera, Morales & JMM were all ATG!! That 5 wins among the three amigos already made Pac top 30!! Dominating Bigger opponents DLH, Hatton, Clottey & Cotto made pac top 5. That dlh perfomance alone propels pac to top 10.

How many titles due you think Bob Fitzsimmons would have won in his day if there was 17 weight classes? He'd probably have won titles at 147, 154, 160, 168, 175, 200, 200+ if he wanted.

Calm down Oscar is top 80 ATG. Barrera, Morales and JMM are great fighters but I'm not sure they will make it to the top 100. Boxing has such a rich history. It doesn't start and end with Pac. DLH performance was great. Was DLH in his primer like Hearns was when SRL KOed him??? And Hearns is top 50 ATG. Pac is a great fighter just yet not that great. Before he was 23 Sanchez beat Gomes who is arguably the greatest Puerto Rican fighter ever. Duran is the greates LW ever and won against SRL at WW!!! Pac needs a defining win against a ATG in his prime (Floyd) to be top 20

Barrera & Morales are lower end ATG's. I bet most wouldn't crack people's top 75. Nor JMM. Hatton isn't an ATG, neither is Clottey although with respect, both bigger opponents. DLH is a great but again, would he crack people's top 60? Doubtful. And he was at the end of his career and at an uncomfortable weight. Cotto is a very, very good win. But is he an ATG? No.
