technically, floyd is better, but that's where it ends. pacquiao has done more in his career than mayweather. he has challenged himself time and time again. he is a better fighter. i dont care about their popularity or their personalities. the truth is pacquiao has accomplished more and fought the more dangerous opponents. he dismantles the opposition. when was the last time floyd wrecked a good fighter? cotto was a beast and looked what happened when he stepped through the ropes to face pacquaio. hatton got destroyed. de la hoya was pummeled into submission. david diaz looked like quasimodo after his fight with pacquiao. all this after having moved up in weight. its amazing. pacquiao is really something else. if mayweather doesnt fight pacman, he ll never be a top atg. how can he be one when he's not even the best of his generation?

take a good look at whitaker's resume and you ll know what i mean. thats not the resume of an all time great. no way in hell. he was a great athlete, no doubt about it, but not an all time great in the ring. i dont know why people say he is. i think it was all the hype surrounding him from back in the day.

Even as a Pacquiao fanatic, there is no argument for saying Manny had comparable ability with Whitaker, Duran or Ray Leonard. None whatsoever.

I do believe Pac's abilities are horribly, horribly underrated by the vast majority of boxing fans though. For me, he is easily as effective as the likes of Arguello, Chavez, Mayweather, etc, and far superior to the likes of Calzaghe, Trinidad, Mosley, Morales, etc.

Can't argue with ANY of this. Except the Ray Leonard comment. I don't think the gap between he and Pacquiao is as wide as seems to be perceived. It's funny also that SRL's name is brought up, particularly as he was no stranger to catch weights either.

 

if you actually watched those fights he "lost" you would have a different opinion, instead of looking him up on wikipedia and thinking you know the story
