It's not the fact that he beat Margarito, but the manner in which he did it that adds to Pac's legacy. For that matter, all of Pac's recent victories were astounding (except for clottey). Anyone who fails to appreciate that is just a plain hater.

The Margarito victory wasn't astounding, it was average. He should have stopped Margarito.

He did what was expected of him. When this fight was announced, people saw it as a mismatch. Guess what? It was.

Dude, Pacquiao didn't go for the KO. He coasted in the 11th and 12th rounds because he felt mercy for his opponent.

When a person consistently meets, and once in a while exceeds, people's expectations, then that person is astounding, especially in an era where other people are content with shitty performances. Or worse yet, taking vacations.

He felt mercy for a cheater, who mocked and insulted his trainers life threatening illness? Who called him a bum, and threatended to knock him out?

Yet he felt no mercy for a completely broken Miguel Cotto, a decent respectful guy who was suffering a terrible beating. Pac was relentless, showing no compassion for a guy who shouldn't have been allowed to fight past the 11th rond, it was a brutal beating.

Why would Pac show compassion towards Margarito and not Cotto?

When has Pac ever refrained from knocking a guy out?
