I'm impartial to margerito in terms of his prior transgressions i dont look too much into the whole hand wrap controversy i actually think it was blown way out of proportion as you saw that margeito could still hurt pac with out illegal padding,( i'd even go as far as saying that margeito of last night would have still smashed cotto like he did in 2008) that being said, did any1 actually enjoy seeing magerito getting badly busted up by pac, although his face was severely perfused by pac i dont think margerito was embarrassed and as humiliated as when mosely destroyed him a back in 2009 the man kept on coming foward and taking heavy punishment and at 1 point nearly had manny down on a bodyshot, i think margerito sent a point to the dickheads across the world who claimed he cheated in every major title fight he's been involved in he gave the p4p no.1 the hardest fight of his career since marquez
I don't like Margarito but I agree with you about it going a bit over the top about him cheating. But the fact is he did at least once go into a fight with loaded gloves and after getting caught, hasn't shown any remorse. So going into this fight I for starters didn't wanna see Tony box again and secondly wanted Manny to win easily and beat him up. But watching the fight even though it was a good one, I lost interest early on. Even when it was back and forth and competetive early on. Still Manny boxed well and again wanted and was good enough to stand and trade with a guy as strong as Antonio Margarito. So no I didn't really enjoy him getting badly beaten and didn't enjoy the fight in general even though it was probably quite a good one.
I'll give him credit for staying in there but Pac was definatly holding back at times, if he looked back at the fight he could have stopped had he steppud up the pressure abit more. But to answer the question I was ****in delighted he took a pounding. If there was ever someone who deserves it, it was him.
I thought Pacquiao could have stopped him in the 10th, he caught him with a clean right hand that wobbled Margarito. If he had pounced on him there the ref may have stopped it.
The ref should have stopped it for sure, he's a sadistic fool. Not to mention costing me some winnings!
I don't want to see anyone get seriously hurt in boxing. But assuming that Margo's going to be OK and suffer no lasting ill-effects, **** him. He deserved the beating he got.
Margarito went up in my estimations- not hard considering where he was following the roach insults and cement wraps! He was in pergetory last night and took his punishment like a man! Let's hope he had some humility beaten into his ass- least for his Own self dignity, as daft as it sounds up until last night had i ever met him I'd have hated myself if I shook his hand (I'm sure he'd have not been bothered) but watching that last night i felt myself changing the way i felt toward him!!! Until
I do not enjoy seeing another Man take a beating like Margarito did last night. Fair enough, he is a Cheater, he tried to get away with that **** against Mosley & got caught. I don't respect Margarito, even more so because of the way he mocked Freddy Roach having Parkinson's Syndrome. Shows that he has No class at all! However, the reason I wasn't pleased he received such a beating is because I have compassion! Pacman carried him for the last two rounds. Manny was initiating to the referee to stop the fight! As for Margarito's corner, they are a ****ing disgrace. When the referee asked Antonio "How many finger am I holding up?" His corner proceeded to tell Margarito the correct answer! Absolute woeful corner! Margarito will never be the same again. He's past it! Even more so after the punishment he took last night! It really does look like a truck has run him over, then reversed & done it again!
He just took a one sided beating, my opinion of him hasn't changed. I don't think anyone's ever said that he wasn't a durable guy willing to take punishment. I really don't quite see what's changed.
Margo has done bad things but he definitely has character. The loaded gloves were a terrible thing to do. Disgusting. But boxing is a sport where many people have been given a second chance. I don't think anyone should forget what Margo did but maybe they can forgive him. Personally (and certain incidents aside), I admire him as a fighter and I enjoy watching him fight.
