I am sick of the praise that Pacquiao gets for moving up in weights. Fair play he smashed a much larger Margarito but he can not e considered a legit light middle weight champion. The fact it was made at a catch weight of 150 in continually ignored by the media. 150 is closer to welterweight than it is light middle. He pulled the same **** when he beat Cotto to become "light welter weight champion". If he wants to be considered as a true champion he should be fighting under the same rules as every other champion when they won their bouts and not picking and using his wealth and fame to dictate faiory tale terms.

You sound a little bit bitter. I'm just glad to have seen a good fight, unlike what happened earlier on that day

Pac doesn't make the rules, he only follows them.

Belts should not be taken seriously, only quality of opposition counts. This was a live opponent that Pac beat, a guy with physical advantages, with superb conditioning, a granite jaw and a Never say die Mexican heart. The fact that Pac beat him so easily, along with guys like Clottey, Cotto, Hatton, Barrera and so on make him an ATG, not belts. He did it again. He did it again and easily. What a great man.

the fight against cotto was for a welterweight title. the only lightwelterweight title he fought for was the IBO against Hatton.

but titles aside, you are sick of people praising pacman for fighting everywhere between 105ish pounds and 150, and looking dominant? you must be really ****in difficult to impress.

Pacquiao was in the ring weighing 148 pounds fighting a guy weighing 165 pounds - he's a phenom.

The OP has a point imo. These victories will always have a question mark over then due to the fact his opponents have been made to come to a weight they struggle to get to. Pacs conditioning coach even said as much.

    Pac's a phenom.

But he is no 154 champ as far as I'm concerned. Not that anybody cares but......to hell with catchweights.

Pacs a marvel and I feel privelidged (sp!) to watch his career but he's not a light middleweight champ or a welterweight champ in my book.

Weight classes are there for a reason. I can see the other side of the argument but I don't agree with it. If a fight is for the light middleweight title then both fighters should have the option of weighing in at 154lbs.
