please no ****ing ******s, nuthuggers, fans with man crushes.... for once can we just have a common sense analysis of a boxing match up. Could Manny Pacquaio vs Martinez be a feasable match up should he win next weekend? Who would win and how would it boost each respective fighters legacy? Id favor Martinez but I honestly think Pac would have a chance.

no chance for pac, martinez is to big, to strong and to quick. Easy fight to call, no way freddie would let arum make that fight anyway.

I'm a big pac fan but sergio is too damn big. And what weight are they gonna fight on?? Pac weighed just 144 lbs. recntly FFS while sergio is having trouble making 158. That's just impossible IMO.

Its feasable matchup if Martinez came down in weight. Mebbe meet at 154? If so I'd expect Pac to come in at the same weight he fought margs 145ish. Itd be a great fight. Itd be close, but I think Pac takes it.

Martinez is a bigger guy that is slick with speed

    Do the math!

They both like to get on their bicycles to run and do that in-out ****. The most interesting part about the fight is who would be the one to adapt their tactics?

Not sure who I'd pick to be honest, as im not too high on Martinez, although he is a bigger man, but more significantly, a bigger man who is a counter puncher, which is the type of style Pac hasn't fought since the Marquez fight, and im still to be convinced he can handle a counter puncher sufficiently, as even Cotto had success waiting on him, countering his as he came in, that said, I think Pac is on a higher level than Martinez as a fighter.

Would be a strange clash of styles though, two lefty's, one with a very unorthodox style(Martinez), thats what makes it difficult to break down, you dont know how their styles would mesh.

It's feasible. Competitive fight. Not easy for Pac, but not impossible.

He actually isn't slick though imo, infact I think he is very hittable.

It depends what weight the fight was at. DiBella claims Martinez can't make 154 any more, so I guess it's theoretically possible that there's a point at which Martinez is sufficiently weakened that Pac would beat him.

If it's at anything approaching a competitive weight for Martinez, say 157+, I'd have to give Martinez the advantage. Martinez would be the most Marquez-like fighter that Pac would have faced since, well, Marquez, except he's bigger, hits harder, and arguably fights smarter (Marquez does love a war every so often).

Martinez could match Pacquiao in hand speed, Martinez has great footwork that would neutralize Pacquiao's own great footwork . The size difference would actually matter in this fight because Pacquiao would not have large advantages in Hand speed, power and footwork. Both guys are southpaws and Martinez had great success fighting a giant southpaw, stamina hog in Paul Williams. If this fight was at 154lbs Sergio Martinez would win by stoppage, because with his hand speed he would catch Pacquiao coming in too many times and he has enough pop to knock Pacquiao down, Pacquiao would have more success against Paul Williams in my opinion because Paul Williams leaves himself open in exchanges way too much.
