Here is why Manny's combos will not be the end of Floyd like some think?

On so many sites I read this common phrase:
How can Money duck, slip, and counter Pac's 1000+ punches and multi angle 7-10 punch combinations the whole 12 rds?

I was about to give an answer when somebody else posted this jewel:

    1. You can't duck and slip 7-10 punches but if he's pumping a constant Jab it slows down the momentum.

    2. Side to Side movement is another way to slow down a high volume fighter the key is to keep him changing direction, you can't throw 7-10 punches when your opponent isn't in range. Manny has been most effective with fighters that stand right in front of like Margarito.

    3. Counter-Punching slows down a high volume fighter as well; When you can throw combinations without worrying if your going to get caught with a sneak uppercut or hook its easy to let your hands go, but if a fighter can counter-punch it slows the volume. Watch Juan Diaz vs Nate Campbell if you notice once Campbell starts countering Daiz his volume slows.

    * The Key to beating a volume puncher isn't making him miss every shot its getting him to stop and think thus slowing his activity. Once you've slowed a volume punchers rhythm rather its by clenching, counter-punching, controlling the range, or controlling the tempo its easier to beat him.

Making boxers second guess themselves is something no other boxer does better than Floyd. It's why I believe Floyd would win a clear UD or SD. Can anyone tell me of Pacquiao's last 7 opponents which was able to apply these strategies the best. Marquez, and look how much success he had. Now add that with someone who is faster, stronger, and more skillful and that is why I believe Manny will lose.

Many say Manny is different now. I agree. But he hasn't faced a skilled boxer with at least decent speed in almost 3 years. I worry that his camp is going to get complacent by using the same strategy. It it ain't broke don't fix it. Can't wait for this fight.:bbb

*****s love playing guessing games and making hypothetical victories for Floyd. The main thing we should be guessing about is when will Floyd man up and fight pac, when will he stop vacationing and beating up women.

But Pac isn't merely a volume puncher. He is a volume puncher who just so happens to be spectacularly fast, with otherworldly handspeed, and obscene accuracy. His footwork is bizzarrely good and oh by the way he can take a punch.

So the question is how Mayweather would neutralize not only the sheer volume, but the accuracy, the power, and footwork. I have a hard time imagining how he would pull this off.

I agree with what you wrote but Roach has been drawing a gameplan for this for years.

Id think Pac will fight more defensively and pick his spurts. Floyd cannot match Pacs output and 3 glancing blows against 1 pinpoint counter is a good gamble from Mannys POV to sway the judges. Steal some rounds and hopefully he hits the target in one of his spurts and get something going.

Itll be a very boring fight, the letdown of the century with a house bet on a Floyd UD but danger always lurks, this is why Floyd needs to fight. Its an intriguing fight.

Floyds in a dilemma. Pac trumps his legacy even more now and he aint catching it even if he beats Wlad at this point w/o fighting Pac. He needs to call out Manny now.

He would neutralize by landing cleanly both to head and body with accuracy and decent power over and over again.

If this version of Pac fought the same version of Marquez he fought in 2008 (who beat him imo), JMM would give current Pac the same problems and win the majority of rounds again.

I use 2008 JMM because i think current JMM has declined somewhat at 37+

That's all they have as Floyd fans...cut them some slack. They haven't felt the joy that we as Pac fans feel when Pac annihilates yet another competitor for a very long time.
