Yeah but Hopkins is RJJ's best win, along with Toney. Hopkins was a great boxer then too, just was not as well known, he did get better, but RJJ win is better than Calzage's.

What would you have Pacman do? , move to MW ? , I would be a great sight to see , but I think that it might be a bit much for him, I might be wrong but there has to be a time when he goes to high and pays for it.

There are some good boxers @ 140 , and he is in that wight bracket?

Toney is Jones best win by far IMO. Hopkins doesn´t come close. Hopkins was a contender back then and still 3 years removed from his prime. Good win, borderline Top5 for Jones I say. Toney, Ruiz, Hill, Tarver are better wins. I don´t think Calzaghe beat Hopkins actually, had it 114-113.

I want him to fight Floyd. That´s the fight I want to see. MW isn´t too far, the MW division is shitty right now, this will change in the next 1-2 years but if he wants to grab a belt there now is the right time.

140 looks good right now but thsoe guys are still too young and inexperienced to hang in with Pac I think. Id´like to see them sort out who´s the best among themselves. I think it will be Bradley. Khan is very good but I think his chin will let him down at some point. I expect him to beat Maidana though.

The way Margarito was even landing jabs on him though, you wonder if DLH actually needs much more that a jab to win the fight. I don't of course take their actual fight as any indication whatsoever of how a prime matchup would go...

Yeah would love to see Floyd in there with Pac, but.

It is a petty that there are not better boxers around to give him a good close fight, with guys his size. when ever two great boxer meet in their prime it is going to be close , ( apart from the odd bout) , I do feel that the guys he has fought are not ATG's in their prime , but the way he has dismantled them is amazing, Duran had a few minor problems with Moore, Leonard stugled with Donny, Hearns stuggled with Kitchen etc....they all won (Hearns was a bit [close]) but Pacman has totaly distroyed these guys , Cotto , Hatton etc... are better than those guys too.

Pac just is not as good at one weight as Duran and Leonard though.

 

Nelson, Chavez, Saldivar are tailormade for Pac. Haven't people realised yet Mexicans can't beat Pac :yep

The thing about Pacquaio is at 126 and 130 he wasnt as refinned as he is now, but hes still a force of nature. Still Sanchez punches wide and can be hit so Pacquaio is teeing off on him. Arguello is very straight up and Pacquaio has massive speed advantages

Drained versions of Mosley and Delahoya at LW don't have too much in the way of advantages, I'd lean towards Pacquaio in those fights

The thing about Pacquaio is, no he isn't 1 of the technically best fighters we've ever seen, but his physical qualities lets him overcome those technical limitations. I'm sure if MAB/Morales boxed in the 70s plenty would be picking them over Pac because technically they are much smoother

 

This is kind of how I have always viewed Pacman. Hes done some amazing things, but I still see a lot of vulnerabilities that would be taken advantage by better technicians.

Going back to my original point, did Roach and company really need a catchweight for this fight? Cmon? What is the controversy that they were supposedly trying to give Margarito ephedrine before the fight? It was found in a bottle and not allowed to be given to Margarito.

In terms of styles, Manny has more going for him in the matchup too; he will WHITEWASH Floyd, mark my words.

This Margo was in better shape than he was for Mosley IMO. He can clearly still take a whack, and still had half-decent power to the body and with the uppercut without his wraps, though that might've been the size disparity coming through.

Floyd fights Marquez; calls a catchweight and then comes over. Wins a wide scorecard on the back foot, rarely engaging.

Pac fights a bigger guy, calls a catchweight and comes in under. Wins a wide scorecard by fighting!

How anyone can still claim Floyd is a)greater than Pac b) will beat him using his 'jab' is off their f'n heads and possibly ******ed.

 

easier said than done. a lot of you probably still see pac as a wild square brawler lol when he has proven himself to be a speedy slick boxer with very good footwork and unpredictable angles. add to that an offensive arsenal that eclipses even Roy Jones Jr. Pacquiao is even getting better and better at counterpunching i'd rank him up there with JMM in that department. Try to back him up to the ropes and see how elite he is at turning opponents. and yet some talks of his skills like they talk of Gatti. Yeah, sanchez and azumah nelson outboxes this version of pacquiao lol.
