I myself take Duran, but this will be good for a discussion

  2. In All time Greatness, I'd have Floyd and Duran on equal footing simply because Duran lost major fights which Floyd did not. After those two names is Ray Leonard. We can talk Pacquiao after those names. :good

Resume speaks for one greatness. The resume can't lie :deal

Duran head and shoulders above CongROIDSman PacGwire. At least Duran fought guys in their primes and didn't have bull**** stipulations. If he was coming up in weight to fight for that guy's belt he fought at the regulated weight, not a ***** made catchweight.

you have to be the worst poster now in ESB. aside from the other guy above... :-(

but to answer this thread, duran of course. he has fought leonard, herns and hagler, all ATGs.

and floyd is definitely below pac in terms of resume.

Could you explain further why you think Mayweather jr. and Duran are on equal terms resume wise?

If you cant explain then one shall just assume your on crack.

Oki lets try to make case for Pacquiao, Duran won a split decision vs leonard 1, second fight when leonard decided to box he quit which is still one of boxings most humiliating moments, greatrun at lightweight but besides dejesus who beat him once, no one is really great. He got ko'd brutally by hearns and beaten by hagler, lost to leonard again and barkely was a great win but that guy is barely a HOF, after that went into the 90's losing all of the big fights and loses againsts some bad opposition.
On the othe rhand pac beats people to gain 8 titles, overcoming the odds plenty of times and looks impressive WITH wins against guys much bigger then him, while roberto on the other hand lost most of those.
This would give people enough to discuss about I think. Downplaying Durans record works as a red flag in front of a bull here on ESB i noticed:D
I personally thinks liek i said before Duran's is better, but he does get overrated because of montreal.

    Duran by ****ing miles!!

    Pacroid is a HGH-Junkie And teh Catchweight-King.

  9. Duran is not overrated. He beat his opponents in more brutal fashion than Pacquiao. The midget has average power who could not knock out Maragarito, and has average footwork Duran can exploit.

Duran made use of two hands when he boxed too. Duran gets this easily. It should not even be a question. Pacquiao ranks in the lower 50's. But if Duran vs Floyd, I'd say Floyd wins it simply because he hasn't lost. These are facts. Hard facts. :good

Pac is awesome, but fighting good names whop are shot and past their best is not the way to go about it, people have to take into account the current condition of the fighters at the time the bout took place.

    Im going with duran

This thread was always going to get ******ed answers in here. If you really want a proper discussion, this would go down well in the Classic.

    To quote Freddy Roach.

"You could Argue all Night about who'd beat who from differant Era's. All's we do know is, He's the best in our Era"

But I get the impression that they think every fighter of yesterday beats anyone today, and the longer it was ago the better the guy gets, like wine sort of. fighters of 1912 beating klits is assumed etc.
Problem is if i make the thread here as you can see it will turn into a Pac-May discussion eventually which i dislike.
