still speculation, because frazier lost against jumbo in the 80s, he never fought in the era of louis. so you can say that jumbo was not great in his era, but he never fought in the era of louis.so you can´t demonstrate that he would lose in the era of louis.

I would defy even you to try to argue that Jumbo Cumings would have been a world beater in Joe Louis's era.

But then the doubt cuts both ways. I could just as easily argue that Joe Frazier would only have been a reginal level talent in Joe Louis's era.

What we do know is that Frazier was being held to a dubious draw by a nobody at this stage of his career, while Joe Louis was beating No1 contender and future lineal champion Joe Walcott two years further into his title reign. You have to think that Louis had aged somewhat better.

Did Joe Louis loose in his prime?

He had turned profesional just over 18 months ago when he lost to Max Schmeling. Most of the heavcyweights that you pick to beat all Louis's oponents were fighting guys with loosing records at this stage of their profesional careers.

I frankly think that Frazier was probably nearer to his prime when he lost to Foreman.

Frazier would have been verry effective in Louis's era in his prime, but it would have been a short prime. He would ultimately have deteriorated to the extent that one of Louis's title oponents could have taken him.

If he had to go through Louis himself to get the the title then he might just have been another challenger.

Perhaps Max Baer would have knocked him silly before he even got to Louis.

You just dont know.

Max Schmeling was a former lineal heavyweight champion who was coming off a win over the #1 contender.

By what stretch of the English language can a fighter like this be called a bum?

I would also ask you how you could argue that Louis was ion his prime when he had only turned profesional just over 18 months ago?

Did Louis have an abnormaly early prime?

Well Frazier at least was the curent champion and had years of ring experience when Foreman beat him.

Louis was outright green when he lost to Schmeling.

Actualy Max Schmeling was a much more credible oponent going into the Louis fight than George Foreman was going into the Frazier fight.

Schmeling was a former champion, while Foreman had been fighting oponents with loosing records going into the Frazier fight.

I would also point out that Louis at least managed to avenge his loss to Max Schmeling, while Frazier never avenged his loss to Foreman.

it is the most stupid and ignorant testament that i did read ever!!! you are comparing a piece of **** like schmeling with george foreman. george not just destroyed his rivals Physically in the ring, he might destroy you mentally and even your soul , he was too powerful. even dempsey and louis said that foreman was the most powerful and devastating boxer they saw ever. the great difference is frazier would ko schmeling and almost for sure foreman would knock joe louis out.(louis didn´t have the chin to take his bombs early, and he was too static to avoid foreman in the first rounds):deal

joe razier would have beaten baer in 1966, 1976 or 3006 with a hand in the back and later he would **** on his face. baer was an archaic and primitive boxer.

i have no problem with this guy , simply he insulted me because he was frustrated, i did beat him clearly with arguments, i said that he is boring and repetitive because he repeats always "it is speculation". according to him,for example we never might say "tyson would ko tony galento" because he will say "it is speculation"(we know that tyson would ko him) but he applies the speculation when he hasn´t nothing more,no argument.. he said " max baer would beat joe frazier", max schmeling would beat george foreman" it is not speculation(apart of ridiculous)....
this forum would be very boring if every user had been like him. i am pretty sure, if i say " foreman would ko peter mcneley in 2 rounds" he would answer me," it is speculation, mcneley might outbox foreman". this guy is really boring, he resorts to the tactic "speculation" because does not want to recognize when i am right.
