hey everytime i see a boxing match involving an inside type fighter, i always hear about how they should have cut off the ring, used more lateral movement and come to think of it i have never seen an inside fighter do that, they just keep coming forward,(mostly following the other fighter) till they tire out Does anyone know of an inside fighter that actually uses lateral movement and cuts off the ring like they are supposed to??
Chavez is the quintessential textbook pressure/inside fighter, I'd say. Not neccessarily the best, but technically hard to fault.
My favorites are Chavez and Harada. There are enough Chavez fights around where he does this masterfully, that you really don't need to look further. A level down from Chavez, I like Barry McGuigan against Pedroza and Bernard Taylor (an absolute track star). Also, Hagler could do it all and wasn't strictly an infighter, but he does what you are looking for beautifully. He could cutoff and swoop in with devastating results.
